Precisamente al cumplirse en el Perú doscientos años de la declaratoria de la independencia, Pedro Castillo Terrones juró hoy como presidente constitucional de la República para el período 2021-2026, durante la sesión solemne realizada en el hemiciclo del Congreso, en presencia de cinco mandatarios de la región y del rey Felipe VI de España. En el mismo acto también recibió la Banda Presidencial.

La ceremonia se realizó poco antes del mediodía y contó con la asistencia de los mandatarios de Argentina, Alberto Fernández; de Bolivia, Luis Arce; de Colombia, Iván Duque; de Chile, Sebastián Piñera; y de Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso; así como de los vicepresidentes de Brasil, Hamilton Mourao; y de Paraguay, Hugo Velázquez; del canciller de Uruguay, Francisco Bustillo; y del expresidente boliviano, Evo Morales.

También estuvieron presentes los representantes de las diversas bancadas parlamentarias, autoridades políticas, civiles, militares y eclesiásticas, así como miembros del Cuerpo Diplomático acreditado en el país.

“Yo, José Pedro Castillo Terrones, juro por Dios, por mi familia, por mis hermanas y hermanos peruanos, campesinos, pueblos originarios, ronderos, pescadores, docentes, profesionales, niños, jóvenes y mujeres, que ejerceré el cargo de presidente de la República en el período constitucional 2021-2026. Juro por los pueblos del Perú, por un país sin corrupción y por una nueva Constitución”, pronunció al asumir el cargo.

Acto seguido, la presidenta del Congreso de la República, María del Carmen Alva, le impuso la Banda Presidencial, acto que fue acompañado por aplausos de los presentes.

Tras la entonación del Himno Nacional, la titular del Parlamento invitó al estrado a Dina Boluarte para prestar juramento como primera vicepresidenta de la República para el mismo período. Luego, María del Carmen Alva invitó al presidente Castillo a dirigir su Mensaje a la Nación.

REUNIONES EN LA CANCILLERÍA
Antes de jurar como presidente constitucional de la República, Pedro Castillo llegó esta mañana a la sede de la Cancillería, donde, en su calidad de mandatario electo, se reunió con los gobernantes de Chile y de Colombia, y recibió las órdenes nacionales.

En el Palacio de Torre Tagle también recibió a la comisión de anuncio del Congreso de la República, que lo invitó a la sesión solemne de toma de mando supremo.

La comisión fue presidida por el parlamentario y vocero de Perú Libre, Alex Paredes; e integrada por los congresistas Ernesto Bustamante, Ilich López, Elva Julon, Noelia Herrera, Yorel Alcarraz, José Williams, José Luna y Roberto Sánchez.

Hacia las 11:43 horas, Castillo, quien vestía un traje con motivos andinos y el clásico sombrero chotano, se retiró de la Cancillería para dirigirse a pie, de la mano de su esposa Lilia Paredes, a la sede del Poder Legislativo.

Al llegar recibió los honores por parte del Estado Mayor Conjunto, representado por el Ejército, la Marina de Guerra y la Fuerza Aérea.

En la puerta principal del Congreso de la República, la comisión de recibo le dio la bienvenida. La comisión fue presidida por el congresista de Perú Libre, Bernardo Quito; e integrada por los parlamentarios Tania Ramírez, Silvia Monteza, Heidy Juárez, Alejandro Muñante, José Jerí, Adriana Tudela, Digna Calle y Ruth Luque.

Castillo se dirigió luego por el Hall de los Pasos Perdidos hasta el hemiciclo principal de sesiones, donde recibió el saludo de la presidenta del Congreso, de la representación nacional y de las autoridades nacionales y extranjeras presentes.

La esposa, los hijos y los padres del presidente de la República se ubicaron en el palco de honor del recinto parlamentario.

MEETINGS AT THE CHANCE OFFICE
