Hasta el cierre del presente despacho el jefe de Estado continúa con sus actividades de coordinación con las autoridades y sociedad civil, y evaluar y seguir tomando las decisiones ante este fenómeno telúrico que ha afectado a pobladores e infraestructuras en esa parte del territorio nacional.
El mandatario peruano en compañía de los titulares de la presidencia del Consejo de Ministros y del Ministerio de Defensa, así como del jefe de Indeci, se reunió con el gobernador regional y el alcalde provincial de Piura, para conocer la situación de las zonas afectadas por el sismo.
Posteriormente expresó su solidaridad con las víctimas y demás afectados por el sismo ocurrido en Piura. Como autoridad, asistimos para la coordinación de acciones inmediatas que puedan requerir el pueblo norteño. Nuestra prioridad es salvaguardar la integridad todos los ciudadanos,indicó.
Vamos a ir donde el pueblo nos necesita, cuando hay una catástrofe, no hay diferencias y siempre estaremos ahí. Les pido que tengan la mayor seguridad de que sus autoridades velarán por sus necesidades, sostuvo Pedro Castillo Terrones.
Finalmente el presidente señaló que la prioridad para el gobierno en estos momentos es la vida y la salud. Por eso invocó a los alcaldes y gobernadores regionales a que se preocupen por la salud y calidad de vida de sus pueblos, concluyó.
