Peruvian News Agency PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe Twitter: @prensaperupe The teaching career has to be re-empowered professionally, academically and professionally, said today the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, assuring that his government will guarantee the vaccine against COVID-19 to teachers in every corner of the country.

“We are also concerned to see in what way we contribute to the teaching career, which, more than revalued, has to be re-empowered professionally, academically and professionally. This is a challenge, Mr. Minister (of Education) ”, emphasized the president after supervising this morning the start of the vaccination of urban teachers against COVID-19, in the Great School Unit” José Granda “of the district of San Martín de Porres.

When greeting the country’s teachers, the head of state stressed that “we come from this quarry and that is why we are here, because we are concerned about the education of our children.”

“Today we have to guarantee the vaccination to those soldiers who are in the last corners of the country. In each town, in each community, in each hamlet, in each neighborhood there is a teacher and that teacher has to show affection and dedication to this right, which is education, ”he stressed.

Noting that teachers yearn to be with their students in educational institutions again, he said that “we have to make the parents and our children understand that the vaccine comes first.”

“Today we start with teachers from the urban area,” he noted and highlighted that more than 60 percent of teachers who work in rural areas are already vaccinated.

The president expressed his greeting, appreciation and gratitude to the authorities committed to bringing forward the Peruvian people “and not only to the teachers, but also to the assistants, to the administrative staff, to all the workers who have to do with educational institutions and the Education sector ”.

“Today I see that it is a joint effort that the Ministries of Health and Education, the authorities, the teachers are doing, so that once and for all our students, in a short time, receive their classes in person,” he said.

“We hope to make the best effort, Minister, to guarantee internet service in all schools in the country. Just as vaccines are guaranteed, technological tools must also be guaranteed, both for students and teachers ”, he pointed out.

During the supervision, President Castillo was accompanied by the Ministers of Education, Juan Cadillo; of Health, Hernando Cevallos; and the district mayor of San Martín de Porres, Julio Chávez.
