A esta localidad, como es tradición recibir a una alta autoridad que es natural de Huancavelica, Barrios Alvarado llegó en caballo, donde fue recibida por la población con expectativa, cánticos y bailes originarios por el orgullo de que una compueblana haya alcanzado tan importante cargo y ahora los visite.

“Siempre trabajé por erradicar la violencia y hoy, que presido un poder del Estado, mi compromiso, entre otros, es consolidar un acceso de justicia real para todas las mujeres, fundamentalmente, para las más necesitadas, quienes tienen limitantes por su condición de quechuhablantes, pobreza o raza”, afirmó.

En su discurso, ofrecido en su parte introductoria, en quechua propio de la región y en ciertos momentos con la voz entrecortada por la emoción, la titular del Poder Judicial destacó que el local del nuevo juzgado de paz haya sido construido por la propia población a pesar de sus carencias.

“Yo también soy huancavelicana, y siento un profundo dolor cuando veo que el lugar donde nací, hay pobreza, necesidad, pero hoy que tengo el privilegio de ser Presidenta del Poder Judicial, mi compromiso es con ustedes, hombres y mujeres, para que el acceso a la justicia para las víctimas de violencia sea una realidad”, recalcó.

RESPONSABILIDAD
Así, Barrios Alvarado sostuvo que los jueces y juezas como todos aquellos que detentan el poder, “tenemos la responsabilidad y la encomienda pública de hacer que el bienestar social de los peruanos/as sea una realidad”.

Refirió que, para ese fin, su gestión está enfocada también en combatir la corrupción, flagelo que empobrece y hace más vulnerables a los más pobres.

“No queremos un país en donde se llore la pobreza, donde se resienta el alma por falta de educación, en donde las tripas suenen por hambre, sino un país donde nos sintamos orgullosos en quienes depositamos nuestra confianza porque se la merecen”, expresó.

Y agregó: “Como mujer tengo un sueño como ustedes mujeres de este rincón profundo del Perú, mujeres que aspiran a una justicia inclusiva, como las niñas que aspiran a tener una educación con igualdad de oportunidades que los varones”.

Tras ello, la doctora Elvia Barrios participó en la develación de la placa recordatoria del juzgado de paz de Chuñunapampa, el cual cuenta con una amplia sala de audiencias, y el equipo tecnológico y mobiliario adecuados.

Antes, el presidente de la Corte de Huancavelica, Máximo Torres Cruz, agradeció la visita de Barrios Alvarado a Chuñunapampa, a quien consideró un “referente y ejemplo” para las mujeres de Huancavelica.

Participaron también en esta actividad, el gobernador regional de Huancavelica, Maciste Díaz Abad; el juez de paz de Chuñunapampa, Miguel Quispe Meneses, entre otras destacadas autoridades locales.

Thus, Barrios Alvarado argued that judges, like all those who hold power, “have the responsibility and the public mandate to make the social welfare of Peruvians a reality.”

He said that, to that end, his administration is also focused on fighting corruption, a scourge that impoverishes and makes the poorest more vulnerable.

“We do not want a country where poverty is mourned, where the soul suffers for lack of education, where the guts ring from hunger, but a country where we feel proud in whom we place our trust because they deserve it,” he said.

And she added: “As a woman I have a dream like you women from this deep corner of Peru, women who aspire to inclusive justice, like girls who aspire to have an education with equal opportunities than men.”

After that, Dr. Elvia Barrios participated in the unveiling of the memorial plaque for the Chuñunapampa justice of the peace, which has a large courtroom, and the appropriate technological equipment and furniture.

Earlier, the president of the Court of Huancavelica, Máximo Torres Cruz, thanked Barrios Alvarado for visiting Chuñunapampa, whom he considered a “reference and example” for the women of Huancavelica.
