Premier Guido Bellido announces vaccination of people aged 25 and 26, after receiving their second dose against Covid-19.

Peruvian News Agency PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe Twitter: @prensaperupe The President of the Council of Ministers, Guido Bellido, and the Ministers of Health, Hernando Cevallos, and the Environment, Rubén Ramírez, supervised tonight the vaccination day against COVID-19 in the district of Villa El Salvador, where they announced that from tomorrow the immunization of people aged 25 and 26 will begin. They also reported that in the last week, from Monday 6 to today, 1 million 950 thousand people were vaccinated throughout the country.

During this working day, the head of the PCM and the Minister of the Environment were immunized with the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine from the Sinopharm laboratory and called on the population to continue being immunized with both doses.

The prime minister also highlighted the work of health professionals and vaccination brigades that are making it possible for vaccines to reach populations throughout the country. It is important that these efforts continue because we need to reactivate the economy and we will not be able to do so if we do not have the vast majority of the national population immunized, he said.

He reported that during the current month of September, around 13 million vaccines will be applied at the national level, which would be reaching 50% of the national protected population. He affirmed that this will be an important step in the objective of approaching, between the months of October and November, the goal of 100% of the immunized population, and in this way reactivate economic activities so that our country can move forward.

“Peruvians are fighters and committed people, and we only need opportunities to demonstrate our commitment to work, he said, noting that a new vaccination strategy is being implemented that involves going to meet the national population with the vaccine in hand, because just immunizing people is the only way to move our country forward.

FROM TOMORROW 25 AND 26 YEARS OLD PEOPLE WILL BE VACCINATED
For his part, the Minister of Health announced that from tomorrow people aged 25 and 26 will be vaccinated and that the age group will continue to be lowered so that the vaccine reaches more people. In addition, it seeks to close the gaps of those over 60 who have not yet been vaccinated. He also announced that in the last week, from Monday 6 to today, more than one million 950 thousand people have been vaccinated throughout the country.

Likewise, the head of the Minsa did not rule out the occurrence of the third wave of COVID-19 in our country and that there is a very high possibility of this happening, given that there is a slight increase in COVID cases and Delta variants (with 399 cases) and the Mu variant. Therefore, he called on the population to continue protecting themselves.

Also present at this supervision day were the mayor of Villa El Salvador, Kevin Yñigo, and the general director of Integrated Health Networks Lima Sur, Alberto Tejada.

ON THE DEATH OF A HIKING HEAD
On the other hand, regarding the disposal of the body of terrorist leader Abimael Guzmán, Prime Minister Guido Bellido affirmed that the Public Ministry has rules and procedures, and that the corresponding decision will be made according to them. He said that the Executive will respect this decision, “as it should be in a democratic country where there are responsibilities of the various institutions,” he concluded.
