On Medicine Day, Pedro Castillo, “let’s put aside the virus of vacancy and censorship”

Peruvian News Agency PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe Twitter: @prensaperupe These words expressed today by the head of state before the Peruvian doctors for his day, will give a lot to talk about: “just as Daniel Alcides Carrión inoculated the virus to move the country forward, today, also, wrongly, politically, in some spaces the virus of interpellation and censorship has been put, there are so many things to do for the country, but we cannot be distracted by those things because the country comes first ”, he pointed out.

And it is that in the framework of the commemorative activities for the Day of Peruvian Medicine and the 86th anniversary of the Minsa, President Pedro Castillo called on the political class and the business community of the country to put aside differences and join forces to guarantee access to health for all Peruvians, especially in this context of the fight against COVID-19.

“We have to do this work together: the State, health professionals, public institutions and the private sector, because health has no colors and has nothing to do with political flags,” said the head of state.

He reiterated the importance of putting aside the differences between all those involved in public management and national policy actors, because, he remarked, that is the best way to pay tribute to each of the doctors and healthcare, technical and administrative personnel who gave his life to ensure access to health for all Peruvians in these times of pandemic.

In this context, he said that his government will work to put more health professionals in all regions. “I call on all of you to build, without looking to the past, to build better hospitals that work at the service of those most in need, with more health professionals in all regions; in cities and populated centers, he remarked.

In front of senior government officials, sector authorities and relatives of the doctors who have died since the pandemic began, President Castillo reiterated his commitment to make Peru more just and closer to the people, a responsibility that, he stressed, will be achieved through upcoming increases in the sector budget, in order to improve hospital infrastructure and services and the working conditions of doctors and other health professionals.

“Here they have a government that will listen to the demands they have as workers and to see the great needs that the sector has. Just as in the past there have been personalities like Hipólito Unanue and Daniel Alcides Carrión, today also, in this pandemic, we have seen people very sacrificed in the interior of the country, who have sworn to serve Peru with all their heart, “he said.
