A través de la Oficina de Cooperación Internacional y la Gerencia de Procura y Trasplante se realizó un acuerdo de partes con el Instituto de Donación y Trasplante DTI de Barcelona, España, para desarrollar el I Curso Internacional Intermedio de Coordinación de Trasplante en el país, dirigido a especialistas que trabajan en las unidades de cuidados intensivos e intermedios, emergencia, neurocirugía, entre otras áreas.

El curso también sirvió para fortalecer el proceso de procura de órganos para obtener más donantes en el país y de esta manera lograr que los pacientes neurocríticos que llegan a fallecer se conviertan en una importante fuente de donación.

Los galenos recibieron 24 horas lectivas y un mes de formación virtual sobre el manejo de la detección, selección y evaluación de potenciales donantes, mantenimiento del donante y entrevista familiar, diagnóstico de muerte encefálica, viabilidad de órganos y criterios de distribución.

“El Perú ha bajado aún más la tasa de donantes por millón de habitantes, de 3 en el 2019 a 1 durante este año. Por ello, este curso permitirá mejorar tres aspectos importantes, la tasa de donación de órganos y tejidos, la detección de potenciales donantes en las unidades generadoras, así como la disminución de la negativa familiar frente a la donación”, explicó la Dra. Mary Díaz Gálvez, gerente de Procura y Trasplante de EsSalud.

Los talleres estuvieron a cargo de expertos internacionales, así como del equipo de profesionales de los hospitales Almenara, Rebagliati y Sabogal y de la Gerencia de Procura y Trasplante de EsSalud.

El presidente ejecutivo de EsSalud, Mario Carhuapoma Yance, señaló que esta capacitación de alta especialización a nivel mundial forma parte de las acciones que realiza su gestión para incrementar la cantidad, calidad y eficacia de la donación y trasplante de órganos y tejidos en el Perú y de esta manera sensibilizar a la población sobre la importancia de la donación para salvar vidas.

“EsSalud cuenta con una red de procura conformada por 11 establecimientos a nivel nacional y con este importante convenio se podrá capacitar a más profesionales de la salud y ampliar esta red llegando a más ciudades y así consolidarnos como una institución líder en la donación y trasplante de órganos”, destacó el titular del Seguro Social.

The doctors received 24 teaching hours and a month of virtual training on the management of the detection, selection and evaluation of potential donors, donor maintenance and family interview, diagnosis of brain death, organ viability and distribution criteria.

“Peru has further lowered the rate of donors per million inhabitants, from 3 in 2019 to 1 this year. For this reason, this course will improve three important aspects, the rate of organ and tissue donation, the detection of potential donors in the generating units, as well as the reduction of family refusal to donate ”, explained Dr. Mary Díaz Gálvez, Manager of Procurement and Transplantation at EsSalud.

The workshops were led by international experts, as well as the team of professionals from the Almenara, Rebagliati and Sabogal hospitals and the EsSalud Procurement and Transplant Management.

The executive president of EsSalud, Mario Carhuapoma Yance, pointed out that this highly specialized training worldwide is part of the actions carried out by his management to increase the quantity, quality and efficiency of organ and tissue donation and transplantation in Peru and in this way to sensitize the population about the importance of donation to save lives.
