“La partida de nuestro hermano nos impulsa a tomar en serio, y con responsabilidad, el sueño de encaminar la revolución educativa que necesita el país. Lo vamos a asumir y lo vamos a hacer”, enfatizó. En ese sentido, invocó al Congreso de la República a marcar una agenda conjunta con el Ejecutivo para alcanzar una educación de calidad en beneficio de todos los peruanos.
Asimismo, exhortó a los maestros del país a mantener la unidad y dejar de lado las mezquindades para lograr juntos los objetivos trazados. El mandatario participó de las exequias del parlamentario fallecido, que se realizaron en la I.E. Mariscal Cáceres en Tacna, donde Fernando Herrera impartió docencia por más de 20 años.
“Hemos hecho un alto a nuestras actividades en Palacio de Gobierno para venir aquí y lo estamos haciendo con responsabilidad, porque cuando una persona asume un mandato como Presidente de la República tiene que estar en las buenas y en las malas”, expresó. El presidente Castillo reveló que, en las múltiples reuniones que sostuvo con el congresista Herrera, coincidieron en la necesidad de impulsar la inversión pública en Tacna, debido a las brechas sociales que presenta la región.
“En sus últimos días como parlamentario el compañero Fernando llegaba a Palacio y decía sentirse impotente por los proyectos paralizados para su región. Más allá de la partida, hoy venimos a decirle al pueblo de Tacna que la demanda de este hombre, como maestro y ciudadano, tenemos que agendarla lo más antes posible”, remarcó.
En otro momento, el jefe de Estado indicó que viene preparando la agenda que presentará en el Gabinete Binacional Perú-Bolivia, el mismo que apunta a impulsar el desarrollo de la zona sur del país.
