Desde la plaza de La Jalca Grande, el Mandatario exhortó a la población a cuidar su integridad y a colaborar con las autoridades locales para el empadronamiento de los damnificados y el traslado a las carpas que se instalarán en zonas seguras.

“Vamos a trasladar alimentos, frazadas para que pernocten allí y ver de qué manera levantamos esas casas que están caídas, bajo la responsabilidad del Gobierno. No intenten habilitarlas, pueden volver las réplicas y no vaya a ser que, por salvar a los animales o un quintalito de maíz, tengamos más daños”, indicó.

Dispuso también que las autoridades regionales y los alcaldes implementen los presupuestos necesarios para la atención de las poblaciones damnificadas, como se ha realizado en La Jalca Grande, donde el presidente Castillo comprometió el apoyo para la reconstrucción de la posta médica y la escuela.

Tras expresar su solidaridad con los afectados por el sismo, el Jefe de Estado dijo que el Perú necesita en este momento responsabilidad y unidad, por lo que pidió no dejarse distraer con otras cosas.

“Primero son los hombres y mujeres, los niños, las mamás, las personas con discapacidad, atendámoslos, bajo responsabilidad”, afirmó.

Refirió además que el país necesita estructurar un mapa de riesgos e indicó que tanto la Policía Nacional como las Fuerzas Armadas se encuentran preparadas para participar en la atención de los damnificados y en las labores de reconstrucción.

A su llegada a La Jalca Grande, el Mandatario recorrió las viviendas afectadas por el sismo y dialogó con las familias cuyas viviendas sufrieron daños en su infraestructura. En algunos casos, persuadió a sus ocupantes a evacuar sus predios para no poner en riesgo su integridad. “Primero está la vida”, los exhortó.

Previamente, el presidente Castillo estuvo muy temprano en el Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia Nacional (COEN), para evaluar la situación de las zonas afectadas por el sismo. Luego sobrevoló Jaén y La Jalca Grande, en la región Amazonas, epicentro del sismo. De acuerdo al primer reporte, el movimiento sísmico afectó también las regiones de Loreto, San Martín, Cajamarca y parte de Lambayeque.

Acompañaron al Jefe de Estado en la atención a los damnificados los ministros de Defensa, Juan Carrasco; de Vivienda, Construcción y Saneamiento, Geiner Alvarado; de Transportes y Comunicaciones, Juan Silva; el jefe del Instituto de Defensa Civil (INDECI), Carlos Yáñez; y el jefe del Comando Conjunto de las Fuerzas Armadas.

Finalmente, el presidente Castillo indicó que mañana estará en Santa María de Nieva, Amazonas, supervisando la atención a los damnificados.
