A pesar del potencial –el 85% del territorio nacional tiene aptitud forestal–, en estos 10 meses del año los envíos apenas representaron el 0.7% del total de las exportaciones no tradicionales (poco más de US$ 13 mil 050 millones).

A fin de impulsar la recuperación y desarrollo de este sector, el gremio exportador, PromPerú y WWF Perú organizaron el ‘Foro de madera y acabados para la sostenibilidad en la construcción’, en el que se abordaron temas como oportunidades y tendencias, potencialidad del sector forestal peruano, entre otros.

Uno de los grandes retos es la deforestación, causada en gran medida por la extrema pobreza y la exclusión social. En ese contexto, uno de los recursos más abundantes e importantes es el forestal maderable, su buen manejo pone en valor los bosques, genera puestos de trabajo y evita la deforestación.

DESTINOS
La recuperación de los despachos de madera en estos 10 meses fue impulsada por Francia y EE.UU., que incrementaron su demanda en 175.3% y 60.6%, de forma respectiva. Los porcentajes altos se deben a un efecto estadístico en vista de la situación por la pandemia en el 2020.

El principal comprador en el periodo de tiempo analizado fue China con US$ 30 millones 186 mil, casi el mismo monto del año anterior (US$ 30 millones 045 mil). El gigante asiático representó el 30.9% del total exportado.

Luego se ubicó Francia con US$ 16 millones y EE.UU. con US$ 11 millones 208 mil. Completaron el top five México (US$ 6 millones 950 mil) y República Dominicana (US$ 6 millones 250 mil).

PRODUCTOS
Los productos semimanufacturados (US$ 58 millones 027 mil) fueron los más exportados, representando el 59.4% del total. Destacaron las maderas molduradas, las perfiladas longitudinalmente y las tablillas y frisos para parqués.

El segundo en el ranking fue la madera aserrada (US$ 25 millones 366 mil), que representó el 25.9% del total, seguido de productos para la construcción (US$ 5 millones 467 mil), muebles y sus partes (US$ 3 millones 446 mil), madera chapada y contrachapada (US$ 2 millones 645 mil) y productos manufacturados (US$ 1 millón 145 mil), entre otros.

The main buyer in the period of time analyzed was China with US $ 30 million 186 thousand, almost the same amount of the previous year (US $ 30 million 045 thousand). The Asian giant represented 30.9% of the total exported.

Then came France with US $ 16 million and the US with US $ 11 million 208 thousand. The top five were completed by Mexico (US $ 6 million 950 thousand) and the Dominican Republic (US $ 6 million 250 thousand).

PRODUCTS
