Estos ocho ejes son los siguientes:
1.- Reducir la inseguridad ciudadana a favor de la población en el marco del Sistema Nacional de Seguridad Ciudadana.
2.- Disminuir la incidencia de actos violentos en conflictos, protestas y movilizaciones sociales a nivel nacional en salvaguarda de la población.
3.- Promover la gestión del riesgo de desastre.
4.- Reducir el tráfico ilícito de drogas en beneficio de la población.
5.- Desarticular las organizaciones terroristas en todas sus modalidades a nivel nacional para la protección de la población.
6.- Reducir el crimen organizado en beneficio de la población en todo el territorio nacional.
7.- Reducir la incidencia de trata de personas y el tráfico ilícito de migrantes en protección de la población vulnerable.
8.- Fortalecer la gestión institucional.

De otro lado el titular de la cartera ministerial del Interior, Avelino Guillén, luego de evaluar personalmente la zona del incendio que se produjo en una galería ubicada en la intersección de los jirones Puno y Andahuaylas, en Mesa Redonda, en el Centro de Lima, dispuso que cientos de agentes policiales se mantenga en dicho lugar para asegurar el control e impedir que se generen prolemas de orden público en dicha zona.

En otro momento, el titular del Interior cuestionó que se sigan realizando construcciones clandestinas con material noble en los locales comerciales de Mesa Redonda, manifestando que estas serían una de las causas de que se haya desatado el siniestro que, afortunadamente, no generó muertes ni personas heridas.

“No es posible que se construya de manera ilegal almacenes donde se esté guardando material muy inflamable como el plástico. Eso tiene que parar”, enfatizó.

En ese sentido, Guillén consideró que debe existir una mayor fiscalización por parte del gobierno local para evitar que se sigan registrando hechos como este y tragedias como la ocurrida en esta misma zona hace 20 años atrás, donde murieron más de 200 personas y más de 500 resultaron heridas, indicó el ministro del Interior peruano.
