Durante su intervención en la sesión plenaria de la XVI Cumbre de la Alianza del Pacífico, que se realizó en Bahía Málaga-Buenaventura, en Colombia, el jefe del Estado afirmó que las mujeres líderes y emprendedoras de la región deben estar presentes en este tipo de eventos, al igual que los jóvenes, pues contribuyen al desarrollo de los pueblos.

“Cada país, cada presidente debe sembrar una planta que no solo eche raíz en la tierra, sino que estos eventos echen raíz en la sociedad”, manifestó.

“Para nosotros es muy importante estar en este espacio. Traigo el saludo del pueblo peruano. Y qué bien que, en el marco de esta cumbre, la Alianza del Pacífico la sienta el pueblo”, expresó.

En otro momento, dijo que como maestro observa que hay mucho por hacer en el campo de la educación, no solo en el Perú, sino también en América Latina.

En ese sentido, al destacar nuevamente el modelo educativo de Singapur, el mandatario peruano advirtió que enfrentar y terminar graves problemas como la delincuencia, el narcotráfico y la corrupción, desde el escenario político, no será posible si es que no se le da el debido énfasis e importancia a la educación, tal como lo ha hecho el país asiático.

Sostuvo que la escuela y la familia son los escenarios más importantes donde se tienen que recuperar los valores.

Asimismo, consideró importante dejar abiertas las puertas de cada país, para que en las fronteras vivas la misma comunidad, los obreros, los campesinos, los vendedores ambulantes y los choferes hablen de la Alianza del Pacífico.

TLC DE SINGAPUR COMO PRIMER ESTADO ASOCIADO DE LA ALIANZA DEL PACÍFICO.
Se debe indicar que durante la sesión plenaria se dio la bienvenida a Singapur como primer Estado asociado de la Alianza del Pacífico.

Por medio de una comunicación virtual, el primer ministro de Singapur, Lee Hsien Loong, agradeció la invitación para participar en la Cumbre y afirmó que está honrado de que su país se convierta en el primer Estado asociado y de suscribir un Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) con la Alianza del Pacífico.

Asimismo, el presidente Castillo y los mandatarios de Colombia, Iván Duque; y de Chile, Sebastián Piñera; suscribieron la Declaración de Bahía Málaga. También, se realizó la transferencia de la presidencia pro tempore de la Alianza del Pacífico, por parte de Colombia a México para el período 2022.

La clausura de la Cumbre estuvo a cargo del presidente anfitrión de Colombia Iván Duque.

It should be noted that during the plenary session Singapore was welcomed as the first Associated State of the Pacific Alliance.

Through a virtual communication, the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, thanked the invitation to participate in the Summit and stated that he is honored that his country becomes the first associated State and to sign a Free Trade Agreement ( FTA) with the Pacific Alliance.

Likewise, President Castillo and the leaders of Colombia, Iván Duque; and from Chile, Sebastián Piñera; signed the Declaration of Bahía Málaga. Also, the transfer of the pro tempore presidency of the Pacific Alliance was carried out, by Colombia to Mexico for the period 2022.
