“Hemos zanjado compromisos concernientes a la lucha contra el narcotráfico. Vamos a ver de qué manera, por medio de los ministerios de Relaciones Exteriores y de Comercio Exterior, nos acercamos a los mercados de Brasil. El presidente Bolsonaro nos ha permitido hacer un llamado a los empresarios brasileños para que inviertan en el Perú”, anotó el mandatario al finalizar la reunión.
Resaltó también el Memorando de Entendimiento firmado entre el Ministerio de Salud de Brasil y el Seguro Social de Salud (EsSalud), que permitirá desarrollar la telemedicina, capacitar al personal de salud y fortalecer la atención al paciente, en un contexto en que la lucha contra la pandemia de la COVID-19 acercó más a los pueblos.
“Como Gobierno nos corresponde impulsar el desarrollo de la frontera. Se han firmado acuerdos para que los ministros de Defensa, de Salud y de Educación estén en contacto permanente para trabajar una agenda con un cronograma de fechas concretas”, aseveró.
En esa línea, el presidente Castillo agradeció a su homólogo de Brasil por la nutrida reunión de trabajo que sostuvieron esta mañana, un encuentro de jefes de Estado de ambos países que no se producía en casi nueve años.
Indicó, además, que existe el compromiso del presidente Bolsonaro de visitar el Perú en junio próximo.
EVALÚAN DAÑOS POR SISMO EN AMAZONAS
De otro lado, el mandatario peruano informó que ha dispuesto una evaluación de los daños por el sismo ocurrido hoy en la región Amazonas, del cual fue informado durante el Encuentro Presidencial. “Volveremos inmediatamente para ir a la zona del sismo”, señaló.
El presidente Castillo participó en el Encuentro Presidencial Perú-Brasil acompañado por los ministros de Relaciones Exteriores, César Landa; de Defensa, José Gavidia; y de Comercio Exterior y Turismo, Roberto Sánchez; entre otros funcionarios.
Durante la reunión se abordaron temas referidos a la conexión multimodal, tanto fluvial como aérea; el comercio y acceso a mercados, así como la cooperación fronteriza en materia de defensa, en seguridad y otros; los cuales forman parte de una agenda bilateral orientada a fomentar el desarrollo, la integración fronteriza, la promoción económica y el fortalecimiento de la cooperación.
Como parte de su visita, el mandatario peruano, quien estuvo acompañado por la primera dama Lilia Paredes, también realizó un recorrido por el Centro de Investigaciones Agroforestales (EMBRAPA), cuya experiencia sumará a la política de Segunda Reforma Agraria que impulsa su gobierno en el Perú.

He also highlighted the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Brazilian Ministry of Health and the Social Health Insurance (EsSalud), which will allow the development of telemedicine, training health personnel and strengthening patient care, in a context in which the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic brought people closer together.
“As a government, it is up to us to promote the development of the border. Agreements have been signed so that the Ministers of Defense, Health and Education are in permanent contact to work on an agenda with a schedule of specific dates,” he asserted.
Along these lines, President Castillo thanked his Brazilian counterpart for the large working meeting they held this morning, a meeting of heads of state from both countries that had not taken place in almost nine years.
He also indicated that there is a commitment by President Bolsonaro to visit Peru next June.
ASSESS DAMAGE DUE TO EARTHQUAKE IN AMAZON
On the other hand, the Peruvian president reported that he has ordered an assessment of the damage caused by the earthquake that occurred today in the Amazon region, of which he was informed during the Presidential Meeting. “We will return immediately to go to the earthquake zone,” he said.
President Castillo participated in the Peru-Brazil Presidential Meeting accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, César Landa; of Defense, José Gavidia; and Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sánchez; among other officials.
During the meeting, issues related to multimodal connection, both river and air; trade and access to markets, as well as border cooperation in defense, security and others; which are part of a bilateral agenda aimed at promoting development, border integration, economic promotion and strengthening cooperation.
As part of his visit, the Peruvian president, who was accompanied by the first lady Lilia Paredes, also toured the Center for Agroforestry Research (EMBRAPA), whose experience will add to the Second Agrarian Reform policy promoted by his government in the Peru.
