Se estima que esta ley beneficiará a 83,664 mil niñas, niños y adolescentes, que se encuentren en situación de orfandad por el fallecimiento de su madre, padre o ambos, con una pensión de S/ 200 mensuales entregados de manera bimestral.

Como se recuerda, esta ley responde a una iniciativa del Ministerio de la Mujer y Poblaciones Vulnerables (MIMP) presentada al Congreso de la República, por el Poder Ejecutivo, el pasado 10 de noviembre, con el objetivo de ampliar las causales para que las niñas, niños y adolescentes que hayan quedado en situación de orfandad puedan recibir una asistencia económica.

Al respecto, la ministra de la Mujer y Poblaciones Vulnerables, Katy Ugarte Mamani, destacó la promulgación de la ley.

“En nuestro país, miles de niñas, niños y adolescentes se encuentran en orfandad, por lo que esta iniciativa del gobierno del presidente Pedro Castillo coadyuvará a garantizar los derechos fundamentales de esta población vulnerable”, señaló la ministra Ugarte Mamani.

Además de la pensión monetaria, esta ley permitirá un acompañamiento psicológico y educativo, así como la creación del Registro de Información de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes en Situación de Orfandad, que permitirá sincerar y actualizar la información sobre los menores de edad en situación de orfandad.

La asistencia económica será otorgada por el MIMP a través del Programa Integral Nacional para el Bienestar Familiar-INABIF, siendo ésta la entidad competente en evaluar, tramitar y realizar el seguimiento para asegurar el cumplimiento de los fines de la entrega monetaria, como son, la alimentación, educación, salud física y mental, terapias de recuperación u otros asociados al desarrollo integral de las niñas, niños y adolescentes.
