Este procedimiento se ha implementado de forma digital para aliviar la alta demanda de solicitudes en los centros de emisión de licencias del Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC), pues las fechas de las citas presenciales se han extendido debido a la reducción de aforos como medida preventiva ante el Covid-19, especialmente, en la tercera ola de contagios que atraviesa el país.
Por estas circunstancias, el MTC ha previsto que los ciudadanos de Lima Metropolitana pueden cancelar su solicitud del documento físico y tramitar la versión digital de manera totalmente on line, a través de la web https://licencias.mtc.gob.pe/
Para iniciar el trámite, debes ingresar al link y elegir la opción “Lima Metropolitana”, luego debes dar clic en el botón “Desistimiento” y colocar el número de tu DNI.
El sistema te mostrará una pestaña con los datos de la fecha y local donde elegiste la cita para recoger la licencia física y en la parte inferior habrá un botón que dice “Validar casilla electrónica”, que deberás seleccionar.
Inmediatamente aparecerá una ventana que te avisará que se ha enviado un código de seis dígitos a tu casilla electrónica. Para ello, debes ingresar a tu cuenta en la página web http://casilla.mtc.gob.pe/ y revisar el mensaje que tendrá una validez de diez minutos. Si se vence ese lapso de tiempo deberás solicitar un nuevo código de verificación.
Lo que sigue es ingresar los seis dígitos en la ventana de licencias y dar clic en la opción “Validar”. La página te mostrará un aviso informando que se realizó la verificación correctamente y puedes continuar con el trámite.
Luego, te aparecerá la opción de un nuevo botón “Confirmar solicitud” para enviar tu pedido de desistimiento y, después, aparecerá una ventana que te informará que se realizó correctamente el proceso y se ha enviado una confirmación a tu casilla electrónica.
Por último, deberás dar clic en el botón “Finalizar” y revisar el mensaje en tu casilla electrónica, con lo cual ya quedarás habilitado para poder solicitar la licencia de conducir electrónica.
