El gremio exportador explicó que el buen desempeño anual estuvo asociado al mejor entorno global y a la recuperación de las compañías peruanas ante la reanudación de actividades comerciales, luego de haber sufrido los embates de la pandemia.
Según el Reporte de Empresas Exportadoras del CIEN-ADEX, el 62.1% fueron microempresas, el 29.3% pequeñas, el 1.3% medianas y el 7.3% grandes, con lo cual las mipymes concentraron el 92.7% del total. En ese contexto el reto del país y sus autoridades es brindar las condiciones para evitar la alta mortalidad y garantizar su evolución, así como generar una mayor estabilidad económica, política y social.
En el detalle mensual, solo en diciembre, exportaron un total de 3 mil 548 compañías, 10.3% más respecto a diciembre del 2020 y 9.5% en relación al mismo mes del 2019 (año de la pre-pandemia).
“Este incremento se explicó por una recuperación en el desempeño de las mipymes exportadoras (10.7%), lo cual contrarrestó la caída en el número de grandes empresas (-6.5%), las cuales se redujeron principalmente por el menor número de exportadoras de pesca tradicional y no tradicional debido al período de baja temporada”, explicó.
DEPENDENCIA
Según el monto US$ FOB del año pasado, el 95.6% del total de envíos fue realizado por grandes firmas, seguido por las pequeñas (3%), medianas (1%) y microempresas (0.4%). De esta manera, las mipymes concentraron solo el 4.4% del valor despachado, aunque representaron el 92.7% del total de empresas, lo cual refleja su elevada atomización.
A nivel de sectores, el 75% del total de exportadoras (6 mil 223) participaron desde un único sector productivo, siendo la agroindustria la que más firmas aglutina (1,776). Solo el 4.6% (372) de empresas exporta bienes desde 4 o más sectores.
Por productos, el 46% del total (3 mil 818) exportaron un único producto, lo cual evidencia la nula diversificación de su oferta productiva. Por el contrario, el 11.5% (950) ampliaron sus despachos al exterior con 10 o más artículos.
De la misma forma, un total de 4 mil 842 despacharon a un solo país (58.4% del total), siendo Chile el principal destino. En contraste, el 5.2% (430) estuvieron más diversificadas al llegar a 10 o más mercados. EE.UU. fue el más importante.
Si se considera solo a las compañías que tienen un único destino y exportan un solo producto, el número asciende a 2 mil 952, lo cual aumenta los riesgos ante posibles cambios en políticas comerciales y arancelarias en el país destino. Dentro de este grupo vulnerable, el 76.8% fueron microempresas, seguidas por pequeñas empresas (16.8%).
Finalmente, Lima concentró el mayor número de exportadoras (5 mil 584), seguida por Piura (630) y Callao (529). En contraste, Huancavelica fue la región con la menor cifra registrada (27).

En el 2021 se registró el mayor incremento de exportadoras en los sectores metalmecánica y minería tradicional.
El año pasado dejaron de exportar 2 mil 085 empresas (el 94.8% fueron mipymes), mientras que las nuevas o reingresantes ascendieron a 3 mil 088.
