“Hoy rescatamos los recursos del país para todos los peruanos, rescatamos el guano de las islas para los agricultores, para solventar a las familias más necesitadas, en el marco de la Segunda Reforma Agraria”, enfatizó.

Desde la isla Pescadores, en Ancón, hasta donde llegó acompañado por la primera dama Lilia Paredes y los ministros de Desarrollo Agrario y Riego, Óscar Zea; de Defensa, José Gavidia; de Transportes y Comunicaciones, Juan Silva; y de la Producción, Jorge Luis Prado, el jefe del Estado recordó cómo en el pasado se explotó el guano de las islas para llevar este producto fuera del país.

De la misma forma, dijo, se explotaron también recursos naturales como el salitre, el caucho, el oro, la plata y la madera.

El mandatario precisó que el ministro de Desarrollo Agrario y Riego liderará la entrega del guano de las islas a los hombres y mujeres dedicados a la agricultura familiar que, con este trabajo, garantizan la alimentación de los peruanos y el progreso de sus hijos.

Destacó también la participación de las Fuerzas Armadas en el traslado del abono natural hacia el puerto y en la distribución del mismo por medio de sus unidades de transporte.

En ese marco, instó a los agricultores a que se organicen y acudan a la convocatoria del Ministerio de Desarrollo Agrario y Riego, para que el guano les llegue de manera directa y oportuna.

“Veremos que no solo produzcan bien las plantas, sino también de qué manera garantizamos un mercado a los agricultores. Puede haber plantas bien abonadas, pero a veces se malogran porque la carretera está en mal estado. Señor ministro de Transportes, hay que habilitar las carreteras para que el abono llegue a tiempo y sea útil”, señaló.

Asimismo, el presidente Castillo manifestó que su gobierno trabaja para atender a los ganaderos que reciben precios bajos por sus productos. En esa línea, sostuvo que hay que implementar un mecanismo para comprar sus productos y destinarlos a los comedores populares y a la alimentación de los niños.

Es preciso indicar que durante la campaña citada se extraerá un total de 102 mil toneladas de guano de las islas y se prevé beneficiar a 150 mil productores vinculados a la agricultura familiar.

From Pescadores Island, in Ancón, to where he arrived accompanied by the first lady Lilia Paredes and the ministers of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Óscar Zea; of Defense, José Gavidia; Transport and Communications, Juan Silva; and Production, Jorge Luis Prado, the head of state recalled how in the past guano from the islands was exploited to take this product out of the country.

In the same way, he said, natural resources such as saltpeter, rubber, gold, silver and wood were also exploited.

The president specified that the Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation will lead the delivery of guano from the islands to the men and women dedicated to family farming who, with this work, guarantee the food of Peruvians and the progress of their children.

He also highlighted the participation of the Armed Forces in the transfer of natural fertilizer to the port and in its distribution through its transport units.

In this framework, he urged farmers to organize themselves and attend the call of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, so that the guano reaches them directly and in a timely manner.

“We will see that not only do the plants produce well, but also how we guarantee a market for farmers. There may be well-fertilized plants, but sometimes they fail because the road is in poor condition. Mr. Minister of Transport, the roads must be enabled so that the fertilizer arrives on time and is useful,” he said.

Likewise, President Castillo stated that his government is working to serve ranchers who receive low prices for their products. Along these lines, he argued that a mechanism must be implemented to buy their products and allocate them to soup kitchens and to feed children.

It is necessary to indicate that during the aforementioned campaign a total of 102 thousand tons of guano will be extracted from the islands and it is expected to benefit 150 thousand producers linked to family farming.
