En ese sentido, refirió que es importante que las autoridades asignen, en plazos adecuados, los horarios y puertas de embarque solicitados por las aerolíneas para el inicio de sus operaciones.

La máxima autoridad del Indecopi manifestó “que el ingreso de nuevos competidores al mercado aerocomercial incrementará la frecuencia de los vuelos nacionales e internacionales lo que generaría una reducción en el costo y un beneficio directo en los consumidores”.

Estas declaraciones las formuló tras la visita protocolar de ejecutivos de la aerolínea Volaris, una de las empresas con mayor número de pasajeros transportados en el mercado doméstico e internacional, en y desde México, quienes mostraron su entusiasmo por el inicio de operaciones en el Perú, bajo la modalidad de aerolínea de bajo costo o low cost.

“En junio vamos a realizar nuestro vuelo inaugural y tenemos mucha expectativa por iniciar operaciones en el Perú. Para asegurar nuestras próximas rutas necesitamos nos asignen horarios y puertas de embarque en el Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez”, manifestó Ronny Rodríguez Chan, director de Relaciones Interinstitucionales de la Aerolínea Volaris.

El presidente del Indecopi reiteró que “una mayor competencia en el mercado aerocomercial favorecerá a los consumidores, pues podrán elegir servicios de acuerdo con sus posibilidades y necesidades”. “El Indecopi garantiza la libre competencia a todas las aerolíneas low cost del mundo que quieran venir al Perú a desarrollar el turismo receptivo y el comercio exterior”, aseveró.
