El evento fue organizado por World Vision Perú y el Consejo Interreligioso de Perú.

La jornada tuvo el propósito de recordar a los más de 200 mil peruanos fallecidos debido al COVID-19, muchos de ellos profesionales de la salud y también para orar por la paz del mundo, frente a la guerra en Ucrania y en otras partes del mundo.

El evento se inició con la participación de la moderadora pastora María Elena Zelada y el saludo de Sandra Contreras, Directora de World Vision y de Monseñor Salvador Piñeiro, arzobispo de Ayacucho y Co-Presidente del Consejo Interreligioso del Perú.

Luego Laura Vargas, Directora Ejecutiva del Consejo Interreligioso y el Pastor Josías Espinoza de World Vision Perú, presentaron la jornada de oración en la que participaron el Padre Juan Rustom de la Iglesia Ortodoxa, El Rabino Guillermo Bronstein de la Asociación Judía, la hermana Beatriz Vila de la Conferencia de Religiosas y Religiosos de Perú, y el Pastor Roger Araujo de la Iglesia Evangélica Presbiteriana y Reformada en el Perú.

Luego participaron la hermana Concepción Gallo de la Comunidad Brahma Kumaris, El Elder Jorge Zeballos, Presidente del Área Sudamérica Noroeste de La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días, el Padre Carlos Quispe, Vicario General de la Comunión Anglicana, el Shej Ahmed Mohammed de la Asociación Islámica del Perú, y la Licenciada Nancy Tolentino del Consejo Directivo de World Vision Perú.

El Elder Zeballos en su oración dijo lo siguiente: “…Te pedimos en esta ocasión tan especial, que bendigas a los líderes de este país, que bendigas a todos aquellos que tienen el deber y la responsabilidad de bendecir la vida de los demás, de los miles y millones de personas que vivimos en este país. Te pedimos que bendigas a aquellos que encabezan y pertenecen al poder ejecutivo, el poder legislativo y el poder judicial y a todos aquellos cuyas decisiones afectan la vida de las personas.  Padre amado, te pedimos que bendigas a los líderes del mundo, en estos momentos tan cruciales y queremos que una vez más sepan que debemos hacer tu voluntad y ser parte de lo que tú quieres para la raza humana…”

Posteriormente lo hicieron la doctora Raquel Gago del Consejo Interreligioso de Perú-Religiones por la Paz, el Licenciado Alvaro Salazar de la Comisión de Jóvenes y Laicos de la Conferencia Episcopal Peruana, el Reverendo Pedro Bullón Presidente de la Iglesia Luterana del Perú, la Doctora Patricia Díaz de la Red Interconfesional de Mujeres de Fe y Espiritualidad y el hermano Manuel Ato del Instituto Peruano de Estudios Budistas.

Durante el evento, compartieron su talento musical Giancarlo Bustíos Vega, de 10 años de edad y ganador del concurso la Voz Kids Perú, quien interpretó los temas “La gloria de Dios” y “Los polluelos”; y el grupo Siembra quien interpretó los temas “Curar la vida” y finalizó el evento con el conocido “Himno de la alegría”.

Finalmente el doctor Raúl Urquizo Aréstegui, Decano del Colegio Médico del Perú, entidad que acogió el evento dirigió un mensaje final recordando a los médicos que ofrecieron sus vidas durante la tarea de salvar otras vidas.
