El mandatario reafirmó que la lucha contra la delincuencia no solo depende del Gobierno, sino del esfuerzo mancomunado de todas las autoridades y de la población organizada.

El combate de este flagelo no solo debe hacerse en Lima, sino también en las grandes ciudades del interior del país, como Trujillo, Cusco, Arequipa, Chiclayo, Pucallpa y Piura, subrayó.

“Desde la Sucamec me dirijo a todo el país para presentar estos resultados que son consecuencia de una lucha constante contra este flagelo”, manifestó y señaló que, como producto del esfuerzo de la Policía Nacional del Perú (PNP), “tenemos al frente revólveres, pistolas, municiones, escopetas y carabinas”.

“Con la última cifra dada esta tarde, se trata de un aproximado de mil armas que estaban en manos de la delincuencia”, anotó el jefe de Estado, quien felicitó al Ministerio del Interior y a la PNP por estos resultados concretos.

Al advertir que muchas de estas armas han sido utilizadas en actos delictivos, aseguró que ya no volverán a ser usadas para tales fines. “No podemos permitir que estas armas de fuego, registradas legalmente, caigan en manos de los delincuentes y sean parte del mercado negro”, enfatizó.

Indicó que la Sucamec tiene proyectado recuperar unas 20 mil armas de fuego este año, con la finalidad de brindar tranquilidad a la población.

EN TODOS LOS FRENTES
“La lucha frontal contra la delincuencia tiene que llevarse en todos los frentes. Tenemos que hacer el mayor de los esfuerzos para cerrar filas contra este flagelo, que tanto daño hace a nuestra sociedad”, remarcó.

El presidente Castillo sostuvo que esta situación merece una respuesta más clara y decidida por parte de las autoridades y del Estado en su conjunto. “Por ello estamos acá para respaldar a la Sucamec y a la Policía Nacional del Perú en la lucha diaria contra el crimen”, expresó.

Subrayó que “los peruanos queremos vivir en paz, en democracia, donde se respete la institucionalidad y el Estado de Derecho”.

Asimismo, recalcó que, tras el retorno a las clases presenciales, “necesitamos colegios y barrios seguros”, de modo que los alumnos lleguen sanos y salvos a las instituciones educativas y regresen en la misma condición a sus domicilios.

La ceremonia se realizó en el patio central de la Sucamec, ubicado en el distrito de Magdalena del Mar, y contó con la participación del ministro del Interior, Alfonso Chávarry; y del titular de la Sucamec, Mario Arata.

President Castillo maintained that this situation deserves a clearer and more decisive response from the authorities and the State as a whole. “That is why we are here to support Sucamec and the National Police of Peru in the daily fight against crime,” he said.

He stressed that “Peruvians want to live in peace, in democracy, where institutions and the rule of law are respected.”

He also stressed that, after the return to face-to-face classes, “we need safe schools and neighborhoods”, so that students arrive safely at educational institutions and return to their homes in the same condition.

The ceremony was held in the central patio of Sucamec, located in the district of Magdalena del Mar, and was attended by the Minister of the Interior, Alfonso Chávarry; and the head of Sucamec, Mario Arata.
