“El Gobierno está firme para sentar las bases de un verdadero cambio a favor de los ciudadanos más vulnerables, estamos firmes en no bajar los brazos frente a un flagelo que destruye a nuestros niños y jóvenes y que durante años ha hecho mucho daño a nuestra sociedad”, enfatizó durante su alocución, realizada en la base de la Dirección de Operaciones Especiales (Diroes), ubicada en el distrito de Ate.

El mandatario, quien estuvo acompañado del ministro del Interior Alfonso Chávarry, precisó que la droga fue decomisada en diversos operativos realizados en Lima, La Libertad, Arequipa, Huánuco y Junín, entre diciembre del 2021 y finales de marzo del presente año, luego de un minucioso trabajo de operaciones de inteligencia, investigaciones e intervenciones realizadas por la PNP mediante la Dirección Antidrogas (Dirandro).

En ese contexto, indicó que para lo que resta del 2022 se tiene previsto destruir 65 toneladas de estupefacientes. “La droga y el narcotráfico destruyen, arrebatan nuestra libertad, nos roban nuestros sueños de progreso, afectan la salud pública, la economía y significan también dolor y sufrimiento para las familias peruanas”, anotó.

Fue enfático, al señalar que desde hace nueve meses que inició su gestión de Gobierno, se está trabajando de manera multisectorial en atender y resolver los problemas sociales dejados por gobiernos anteriores. “Somos conscientes que, producto de gestiones fallidas en gobiernos anteriores, el país viene siendo golpeado por la pobreza, la desigualdad, la corrupción, las drogas, y también la violencia sexual a niños, niñas, adolescentes y mujeres, que repudiamos”, expresó.

En esa línea, el jefe de Estado informó que en los próximos días se formalizará el proyecto de ley que establece la castración química para violadores, por lo que pidió el respaldo del Congreso de la República para aprobarla, ya que es un clamor popular.

“Como Gobierno tenemos la enorme responsabilidad de defender y proteger la vida de los peruanos, que está por encima de cualquier interés o cálculo político. Es nuestro deber hacerlo con sentido de urgencia y determinación, aquí no hay lugar para la inacción, la vida está por encima de todo”, remarcó.

El mandatario, también exhortó al Poder Judicial y al Ministerio Público a dar celeridad a los casos de abuso sexual infantil y sostuvo que se debe castigar con mano dura a los depravados que cometen hechos de extrema crueldad.

Finalmente, reafirmó el compromiso de su gobierno de continuar trabajando por el país y atender las justas demandas del pueblo. “Trabajamos para ofrecer mejores servicios y tender los puentes del diálogo con la sociedad civil, con el fin de lograr la gobernabilidad que tanto necesitamos para sacar adelante al país”, concluyó.

Along these lines, the head of state reported that in the coming days the bill that establishes chemical castration for rapists will be formalized, for which he requested the support of the Congress of the Republic to approve it, since it is a popular clamor.

“As a government we have the enormous responsibility to defend and protect the lives of Peruvians, which is above any political interest or calculation. It is our duty to do it with a sense of urgency and determination, there is no place for inaction here, life is above everything”, he remarked.

The president also urged the Judiciary and the Public Ministry to expedite cases of child sexual abuse and argued that the depraved who commit acts of extreme cruelty should be punished with a heavy hand.

Finally, he reaffirmed his government’s commitment to continue working for the country and meeting the just demands of the people. “We work to offer better services and build bridges of dialogue with civil society, in order to achieve the governability that we so much need to move the country forward,” he concluded.
