Estas palabras las formuló durante su discurso en la ceremonia por el XXV aniversario de la Operación Chavín de Huántar, el Día del Valor Militar y el Día de los Defensores de la Democracia que se realizó en la réplica de la residencia del embajador de Japón, en el distrito de Chorrillos.

En ese contexto, el jefe de Estado, dijo que se dispusieron acciones conjuntas entre el Ministerio de Defensa y el Ministerio del Interior para desplegar a los efectivos del orden en diferentes lugares del país.

“En estos nueve meses de gestión y a través de los ministerios de Defensa y del Interior, desplegamos en varias regiones del país la presencia de nuestras Fuerzas Armadas y del orden, a fin de salvaguardar la seguridad y la tranquilidad de todos los peruanos”, reiteró.

El mandatario, exhortó a una “gran concertación por los intereses del país” tanto al Congreso de la República, al Poder Judicial, a la sociedad civil, y al mismo Poder Ejecutivo para unificar objetivos comunes en beneficio del país contra la corrupción, la delincuencia, el sicariato, las violaciones y otros males, como es la discriminación en todas sus expresiones”, anotó.

“Hago un llamado a la más amplia unidad. Si dejamos de lado nuestras diferencias y nos ponemos al hombro el Perú, y tomamos como ejemplo a Chavín de Huántar, vamos lograr resultados muy exitosos” como fue la operación militar que permitió el rescate de 72 rehenes hace 25 años”, manifestó.

Fue enfático al señalar que el Gobierno está siempre dispuesto a lograr el consenso. “La unidad hace la fuerza y como Gobierno estamos siempre dispuestos al consenso porque no se trata tan solo de una gestión gubernamental, sino de la vida de más de 33 millones de peruanos”, indicó

tras destacar la exitosa estrategia y operación militar Chavín de Huántar como un hito que quedará en el recuerdo de todos los peruanos y de las futuras generaciones.

“Hoy no solo celebramos el rescate de 72 rehenes que permanecieron cautivos durante 126 días por la insania terrorista, sino que celebramos la libertad de un país que pedía a gritos la pacificación y que, lamentablemente, producto de las desigualdades sociales nos pusieron en un escenario de violencia que jamás se debe repetir”, señaló.

De otro lado, aseguró que el Gobierno seguirá firme en su compromiso para seguir fortaleciendo a nuestras gloriosas Fuerzas Armadas, porque no solo trabajan por la seguridad nacional, sino también trabajan solidariamente en distintas acciones sociales cuando el país más lo necesita.

En la ceremonia, participaron también la presidenta del Poder Judicial, Elvia Barrios; el ministro de Defensa, José Luis Gavidia; el jefe del Comando Conjunto de las Fuerzas Armadas, Manuel Gómez de la Torre; y los comandantes generales del Ejército, de la Marina de Guerra y de la Fuerza Aérea del Perú, entre otras autoridades.
