“El gobierno, a través del Ministerio de Salud, tiene un compromiso firme en la lucha contra el cáncer y en desplegar el mayor de los esfuerzos para fortalecer también la infraestructura en salud”, refirió.
En una ceremonia realizada en Palacio de Gobierno, ante más de 200 pacientes infantes que luchan contra esta enfermedad y sus familiares, reveló que en este primer año se invertirán 1,100 millones de soles, en favor de los niños y pacientes con cáncer.
Sostuvo, además que durante su gestión, se ha implementado el Plan Nacional de Cuidados Integrales del Cáncer, así como el reglamento de la Ley Nacional del Cáncer y el reglamento de la Ley de Cáncer Infantil.
AMBIENTES EXCLUSIVOS PARA NIÑOS CON CÁNCER
El jefe de Estado, aseguró además, que para mejorar la atención de los niños y adolescentes con cáncer, se ha fortalecido la infraestructura hospitalaria para servicios oncológicos en cinco hospitales de Lima Metropolitana, entre ellos el Instituto Nacional del Niño de Breña y de San Borja.
En ese contexto subrayó que, en cumplimiento de sus compromisos con este sector de peruanos, se está implementando, un piso del Instituto Nacional del Niño de San Borja, para atender en forma exclusiva e inmediata a pacientes oncológicos. “Vamos a descongestionar también los servicios oncológicos a nivel nacional”, afirmó.
Asimismo, se ha implementado y fortalecido los servicios de oncohematología pediátrica en cinco regiones del país.
Subrayó que su gobierno tiene como prioridad la política prestacional de salud, empezando por el cáncer, como la expresión de un derecho fundamental para todos los peruanos y peruanas.
“El gobierno del pueblo tiene la obligación de redoblar esfuerzo para que ustedes, queridos niños y niñas, tengan los mismos derechos y puedan desarrollar plenamente sus habilidades y talentos, y crezcan en un ambiente seguro”, apuntó.
De otro lado, el mandatario saludó a las enfermeras en el marco del Día Internacional de las Enfermeras y Enfermeros, destacando su valioso aporte en el proceso de vacunación contra la COVID-19 y en la protección a la salud pública.

EXCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENTS FOR CHILDREN WITH CANCER
The head of state also assured that in order to improve care for children and adolescents with cancer, the hospital infrastructure for cancer services has been strengthened in five hospitals in Metropolitan Lima, including the National Children’s Institute of Breña and San Borja.
In this context, he stressed that, in compliance with his commitments to this sector of Peruvians, a floor of the National Children’s Institute of San Borja is being implemented, to attend cancer patients exclusively and immediately. “We are also going to decongest oncology services at the national level,” he said.
Likewise, pediatric oncohematology services have been implemented and strengthened in five regions of the country.
He stressed that his government has as a priority the health policy, starting with cancer, as the expression of a fundamental right for all Peruvians.
“The people’s government has the obligation to redouble efforts so that you, dear boys and girls, have the same rights and can fully develop your skills and talents, and grow up in a safe environment,” he said.
On the other hand, the president greeted the nurses in the framework of the International Nurses Day, highlighting their valuable contribution in the vaccination process against COVID-19 and in the protection of public health.
