A las 10:00 horas, las altas autoridades, quienes sostenían un encuentro en el marco del Consejo para la Reforma del Sistema de Justicia, evacuaron la sala de sesiones del Consejo de Ministros y se desplazaron hasta el Patio de Honor de Palacio de Gobierno.
También participaron de este simulacro los trabajadores de la sede del Despacho Presidencial, quienes de forma ordenada se concentraron en cinco círculos de seguridad. Como parte del simulacro, una persona fue evacuada en una camilla por brigadistas y trasladada en una ambulancia hasta un centro de salud.
La novedad de este primer simulacro nacional de este año es que se ha incorporado el Sistema de Mensajería de Alerta Temprana de Emergencia (Sismate). Por primera vez, más de 22 millones de ciudadanos recibieron en sus celulares un mensaje que pedía mantener la calma y participar de la medida.
El Simulacro Nacional Multipeligro tiene como objetivo evaluar las capacidades de acción de la población ante una posible emergencia sísmica de gran magnitud y otro tipo de emergencias como lluvias, bajas temperaturas, actividad volcánica y tsunamis. Permite además fortalecer las capacidades de preparación y respuesta de las entidades integrantes del Sistema Nacional de Gestión del Riesgo de Desastres (Sinagerd).
Cabe precisar que el Indeci tiene previsto realizar otros dos simulacros multipeligro a nivel nacional. El primero se realizará el 15 de agosto a las 15:00 horas, mientras que el segundo, el 7 de noviembre a las 20:00 horas.

The objective of the National Multi-hazard Drill is to evaluate the population’s capacities for action in the event of a possible large-scale seismic emergency and other types of emergencies such as rains, low temperatures, volcanic activity and tsunamis. It also makes it possible to strengthen the preparedness and response capacities of the entities that make up the National Disaster Risk Management System (Sinagerd).
It should be noted that the Indeci plans to carry out two other multi-hazard drills at the national level. The first will take place on August 15 at 3:00 p.m., while the second will be held on November 7 at 8:00 p.m.
