Esta innovadora herramienta ha sido diseñada para que todos los peruanos tenga lo mejor del campo en sus mesas y para el bienestar de sus familia, destacó meridianamente el ministro del Ambiente, Modesto Montoya.

En ese marco, el titular del sector Ambiente dijo que dicha herramienta facilita el acceso de la población a los valiosos y nutritivos productos del campo. “Estamos orientados a difundir esta iniciativa, con apoyo de las instituciones involucradas, para contribuir al desarrollo social y económico de los pueblos andinos”, acotó.

Asimismo, indicó que los productos de nuestra agrobiodiversidad son mucho más nutritivos que aquellos procedentes del extranjero. “Debemos preservar y consumir lo nuestro”, subrayó.

A su turno, la viceministra del Desarrollo Estratégico de los Recursos Naturales, Yamina Silva, manifestó que la app Kusikuy pone al alcance de la población los productos nativos de diferentes regiones del país. “Debemos hacer que esta aplicación crezca en coordinación con todos los actores para lograr que nuestra agrobiodiversidad siga viva”, remarcó.

Durante este acto también estuvieron presentes Anton Willems, director ejecutivo de Profonanpe; Crisólogo Cáceres, presidente de la Asociación Peruana de Consumidores y Usuarios; José Álvarez, director General de Diversidad Biológica del Minam; César Sotomayor, coordinador Nacional del Proyecto GEF Agrobiodiversidad-SIPAM; Enrique Roman, representante asistente de FAO en Perú; y Flavio Solorzano, chef de la marca Perú e imagen de Kusikuy; entre otros.

Más que una herramienta digital de compras, Kusikuy es un espacio exclusivo para articular y relacionar a productores rurales conservacionistas con consumidores urbanos de productos nativos cultivados con la sabiduría ancestral de generaciones de agricultores, y de modo amigable con el ambiente.

Esta iniciativa ha sido posible gracias al trabajo conjunto del Ministerio del Ambiente (Minam), el Ministerio de Desarrollo Agrario y Riego (Midagri), la FAO, Profonanpe (el fondo ambiental del Perú), con el financiamiento del Fondo para el Medio Ambiente Mundial (GEF) que a través de su Proyecto GEF Agrobiodiversidad-SIPAM en alianza con la Asociación Peruana de Consumidores y Usuarios (ASPEC) y, por supuesto, con las comunidades de agricultoras y agricultores de los distritos andinos donde está presente el proyecto.

More than a digital shopping tool, Kusikuy is an exclusive space to articulate and relate conservationist rural producers with urban consumers of native products grown with the ancestral wisdom of generations of farmers, and in an environmentally friendly way.

This initiative has been possible thanks to the joint work of the Ministry of the Environment (Minam), the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), FAO, Profonanpe (Peru’s environmental fund), with funding from the Global Environment Facility. (GEF) that through its GEF Agrobiodiversity-SIPAM Project in alliance with the Peruvian Association of Consumers and Users (ASPEC) and, of course, with the farming communities of the Andean districts where the project is present.
