“Llamo a reflexionar sobre el significado de las acciones heroicas de los peruanos que entregaron su vida por un fin superior. Que su ejemplo nos impulse a trabajar juntos para lograr un Perú más justo y equitativo para todos”, indicó.

Estas declaraciones las formuló en la víspera tras recibir, las charreteras (insignias militares) y los portalones de la corbeta Unión, que fueron devueltos por el Gobierno de Chile, el jefe de Estado dijo que “la devolución de estas reliquias históricas es una expresión valiosa que fortalece la amistad y la confianza en la agenda a futuro, con la cual ambos gobiernos estamos comprometidos en trabajar”.

“Hoy integramos al Patrimonio Cultural de nuestra Nación las reliquias históricas del coronel Francisco Bolognesi. El coronel Francisco Bolognesi y la corbeta Unión representan para el Perú dos baluartes de nuestra identidad nacional”, resaltó el mandatario.

Sostuvo además que los objetos militares de uno de los héroes más grandes de la patria, simbolizan para los peruanos un ejemplo de entrega, sacrificio, honor y principio del deber. “Son valores que nos recuerdan la responsabilidad que tenemos con el país” expresó.

El jefe de Estado precisó que actualmente el país se encuentra ante nuevos desafíos que están encarándose con mucha convicción para impulsar el desarrollo del Perú. “Nos encontramos ante nuevos desafíos que encaramos con convicción para impulsar el desarrollo político, económico y social. Por ello, miremos al pasado con el orgullo de saber que en base a ello venimos construyendo un futuro mejor para todos”, subrayó.

Finalmente, dijo que la devolución de estas reliquias históricas por parte del Gobierno de Chile son un gesto de gran significado y una expresión para continuar en el fortalecimiento de la amistad y la confianza en la agenda a futuro de los dos países.

“Desde acá un abrazo al presidente Gabriel Boric. Agradezco a todos los que hicieron posible la entrega de estas reliquias”, recalcó el presidente.

En la ceremonia de entrega, realizada en la sede de Cancillería, estuvieron presentes el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores, César Landa; el ministro de Cultura; Alejandro Salas; el ministro de Defensa, José Luis Gavidia, así como el jefe del Comando Conjunto de las Fuerzas Armadas y los altos mandos de los institutos castrenses.
