Ahora la bicolor peruana tiene que empezar a trabajar ya, en los siguientes días definiendo la continuidad o no del director técnico Ricardo Gareca, esta nueva etapa debe enfocarse de manera objetiva a lograr estar presente en el mayor torneo de fútbol del mundo FIFA 2026, que será organizada por países de manera inédita por primera vez, la cita mundialistas se desarrollará en Canadá, México y Estados Unidos, con la participación de 48 selecciones en el torneo de fútbol más prestigioso del orbe.

Según lo anunciado por FIFA este jueves 16 de junio, anunciará por fin algo muy importante relacionado con los escenarios donde tendrá lugar la Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2026 en Canadá, EE. UU. y México.

Existen el requerimiento de 22 ciudades candidatas que compiten por el derecho a albergar los partidos de este torneo que reunirá a 48 selecciones en los tres países antes descritos, algo que se da por primera vez en un Mundial de la FIFA.

LAS 22 CIUDADES CANDIDATAS
Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Edmonton, Guadalajara, Houston, Kansas City, Los Ángeles, Ciudad de México, Miami, Monterrey, Nashville, Nueva York/Nueva Jersey, Orlando, Filadelfia, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver y Washington DC/Baltimore.

EL PERÚ vs AUSTRALIA
En los primeros noventa minutos ambas escuadras llegaron a cero goles por iguales, en todo el partido la selección Inca tuvo un juego desordenado, en donde las individualidades no brillaron nada. Mientras que Australia solo hizo lo mínimo, defenderse de los pocos ataques de la blanquirroja y adelantar a su rival en ocasiones que si pudieron complicar a los once de Gareca.

Finalmente la nación de los canguros se clasificó este lunes al Mundial de Catar 2022 luego de 90’ minutos de tiempo reglamentario y 30’ de alargue sin goles, en el que Awer Mabil anotó el gol que definió la tanda de penaltis y Alex Valera desperdició la última opción peruana.

En la tanda de penales Pedro Gallese se vistió de héroe y le atajó a Martin Boyle el primer disparo de los australianos, sin embargo, Luis Advíncula desperdició su tanto y posteriormente la falta de técnica de Valera acabó con las aspiraciones de la selección Inca de estar en Qatar 2022.

Australia disputará por sexta vez la Copa del Mundo y se suma al Grupo D donde ya están emparejadas las selecciones de Francia, Dinamarca y Túnez.
