Agencia Peruana de Noticias PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe Twitter: @prensaperupe El ministro de Comercio Exterior y Turismo, Roberto Sánchez, anunció hoy que la Ciudad de Arequipa ha logrado ingresar al Programa Turismo Futuro del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID), una gran noticia que permitirá consolidar la recuperación del turismo y enfrentar los retos post pandemia en este importante atractivo del sur del Perú.

Este es el resultado del trabajo coordinado entre el Mincetur, Gobierno Regional de Arequipa y la Municipalidad Provincial de Arequipa. Gracias a ello, el mencionado destino obtendrá un diagnóstico sobre su nivel de madurez tecnológica en turismo y un plan de acción para acelerar el uso y aplicación de tecnologías entre las empresas turísticas.

Como se sabe, uno de los destinos predilectos en el sur del Perú es la región de Arequipa; su Centro Histórico, cuenta con una importante oferta hotelera, además de ser el epicentro de las mejores y más icónicas picanterías, además de significativas tiendas de cerámica, arte y textil, donde destacan las prendas hechas en alpaca.

No olvidemos, además, que el Centro Histórico de la ciudad de Arequipa es considerado Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por Unesco desde el 2000. En este este hermoso espacio, se combina la prestigiosa y llamativa arquitectura colonial -con sus más de 500 casonas a su alrededor como mejor muestra-, con los característicos acabados arquitectónicos arequipeños hechos sobre la base del sillar.

“Para el Mincetur esta es una gran noticia. Con ello, reforzamos el compromiso de nuestro gobierno democrático, liderado por el presidente de la República, Pedro Castillo, de trabajar de manera articulada, desde los tres niveles de gobierno, para fomentar la competitividad de los destinos turísticos. El Perú es sus regiones y nuestro compromiso con el sector es integral”, afirmó el ministro Sánchez.

En ese sentido, añadió que el sector viene recuperándose y por ello es importante el papel de las tecnologías y el apoyo del BID será valioso.

“La incorporación de la tecnología favorece la sostenibilidad económica y socioambiental. Es fundamental, por ello, entender las nuevas prioridades de la demanda y respaldar a las empresas turísticas con la revolución digital. Por ello, la trascendencia del Programa Turismo Futuro”, sostuvo el titular del Mincetur.

SOBRE LA ELECCIÓN
Postularon para ingresar al Programa Turismo Futuro de este año un total de 107 destinos, siendo diez los seleccionados: Perú (Ciudad de Arequipa), Uruguay (Montevideo), Argentina (Ciudad de Córdoba), Brasil (Fortaleza), Chile (Puerto Varas), Colombia (Bogotá Distrito Capital), Ecuador (Islas Galápagos), Ecuador (Distrito Metropolitano Quito), Guatemala (Antigua Guatemala), y México (Cancún).

El ingreso de la Ciudad de Arequipa a la lista fue fruto del trabajo conjunto. En el caso de Mincetur, la Dirección General de Estrategia Turística asumió el liderazgo de organizar un equipo técnico de trabajo con la finalidad de motivar la participación de diversos destinos turísticos, de distintas regiones, para que postulen a la convocatoria. Una de ellas fue Arequipa.

Así, se realizó un trabajo articulado y exhaustivo de coordinación entre los representantes de gobiernos regionales, municipalidades provinciales y distritales, gremios del sector turístico, sector académico, además del respaldo del equipo técnico de la Dirección General de Estrategia de Turística (DGET) y la Dirección General Políticas de Desarrollo Turístico, estas dos últimas de Mincetur.

Posteriormente, la selección por parte del BID, se hizo en función de la calidad y alcance de los análisis presentados. También se tomó en cuenta la fortaleza del equipo designado para acompañar la asistencia, el detalle de las acciones previstas, entre otros.

Finalmente, es importante mencionar que la ceremonia de anuncio contó con la presencia alcalde de la Municipalidad Provincial de Arequipa, Omar Candia Aguilar, la presidente ejecutiva de PROMPERÚ, Amora Carbajal Schumacher y funcionarios del MINCETUR.

ABOUT THE CHOICE
