“Hoy hemos trabajado juntos para atender las demandas de la población y construir una agenda con los representantes legítimos de esta tierra, además hemos logrado construir acuerdos acerca de las prioridades para el despegue de la economía de Arequipa”, manifestó el premier durante la clausura del evento.

El presidente del Consejo de Ministros indicó que Arequipa es una región que ha entregado al Perú talento, recursos, personajes ilustres, pero también destaca por ser el segundo gobierno regional, después de Lima, que más aporta en Valor Agregado Bruto a la economía nacional.

“Vamos a establecer en una ruta de trabajo la mejora de la agricultura, la industria y el turismo que son los ejes de la economía arequipeña. Para ello, los ministros de Agricultura, Comercio Exterior y Turismo, así como de la Producción, trabajarán con la gobernadora regional, las autoridades locales y las organizaciones sociales para la reactivación total de estos sectores”, aseveró.

El primer ministro también recordó la importancia de los Consejos de Ministros Descentralizados (CMD) cuyo objetivo es abordar directamente entre el Poder Ejecutivo con los gobiernos regionales, alcaldes provinciales, y locales, y así resolver de manera efectiva los problemas sin intermediarios.

“En esa línea estamos decididos a trabajar y tomar decisiones de gobierno en los mismos espacios territoriales regionales, donde nacen las necesidades y las demandas. La voluntad de trabajar juntos está en todos nosotros, aquí no hay exclusión de nadie”, dijo Torres.

Asimismo, recalcó que “tenemos que continuar fortaleciendo a los sectores económicos pujantes; así como sacar adelante el Proyecto Majes Siguas II, que nos permitirá ampliar la frontera agrícola. Y haremos todos los esfuerzos para que este proyecto beneficie, principalmente, a los agricultores arequipeños”, enfatizó.

En ese sentido, exhortó a las distintas autoridades arequipeñas y a la ciudadanía en general, mantener el espíritu democrático y participativo que se ha demostrado en este XVII Consejo de Ministros Descentralizado, y también los invocó a preservar la democracia y la voluntad popular.

Esta sesión descentralizada del Consejo de Ministros contó con la participación del alcalde de la Municipalidad Provincial de Arequipa, Omar, Candia, así como de la gobernadora regional de Arequipa, Kimmerlee Gutiérrez.

Además, participaron los alcaldes de la provincia de Caravelí, Diego Montesinos; de Castilla, Héctor Cáceres; y de Camaná, Marcelo Valdivia; de Condesuyos, Miguel Ángel Manchego; de Islay, Edgar Rivera; de La Unión, Jorge Luis Velásquez; de Caylloma, Álvaro Cáceres Llica.

Del mismo modo, estuvieron presentes los titulares del Mincetur, Roberto Sánchez; Defensa, José Gavidia; MEF, Óscar Graham; Minjus, Félix Chero; Minedu, Rosendo Serna; Minsa, Jorge López; Midagri, Andrés Alencastre, y Midis, Dina Boluarte; así como los ministros de Produce, Jorge Prado; MTPE, Juan Lira; MTC, Juan Barranzuela; Mujer y Poblaciones Vulnerables, Diana Miloslavich; Minam, Modesto Montoya; Cultura, Alejandro Salas; y Relaciones Exteriores, César Landa.
