A trabajar por la democracia y los temas urgentes que enfrenta el país invocó presidente Pedro Castillo a todas las fuerzas políticas.

En declaraciones a la prensa, dijo que “estamos en momentos críticos como la pandemia de la Covid-19 que aún no podemos mitigar totalmente, tenemos serios problemas como la emergencia agraria, no podemos entretenernos en otros temas, sino más bien mirar con responsabilidad el país”.

En otro momento, tras participar en la víspera de la santa misa con ocasión de la Solemnidad de los Santos Apóstoles Pedro y Pablo en la Catedral de Lima, precisó que “para eso, el pueblo nos ha puesto mayoritariamente al frente del Perú”.

De otro lado, el jefe de Estado, agradeció al partido que lo acogió como su candidato presidencial durante las últimas elecciones generales, en las cuales obtuvieron el respaldo de la ciudadanía en las urnas.

“En las próximas horas daré una respuesta, entendiendo que, por encima de todo, está el Perú”, afirmó en relación al pedido formulado por una organización política para que renuncie.

El jefe de Estado acudió esta mañana a la Catedral de Lima acompañado de los ministros de Defensa, José Luis Gavidia Arrascue; de Cultura, Alejandro Salas Zegarra; de Educación, Rosendo Serna Román; de Transportes y Comunicaciones, Juan Barranzuela Quiroga y de Desarrollo Agrario y Riego, Andrés Alencastre Calderón.

La misa fue celebrada por el nuncio apostólico en el Perú, Nicola Girasoli, quien culmina su estancia como representante diplomático de la Santa Sede. El diplomático agradeció la acogida que tuvo en nuestro país e indicó haber recorrido varios lugares en toda su extensión.
