“Tras dos años de haber sufrido los estragos de la pandemia, una de las preocupaciones permanentes de la gestión de este Gobierno ha sido darles a los peruanos la posibilidad de tener cobertura de salud pública de calidad, y hoy podemos decir que lo hemos logrado. La salud no debe ser un servicio, sino un derecho de todas las personas, hoy lo ratificamos”, indicó el mandatario desde Palacio de Gobierno.

El jefe de Estado, dijo que el 70% de los afiliados corresponden al Seguro Integral de Salud (SIS), el 25% a Essalud, el 2% a un seguro para el personal de las Fuerzas Armadas y el 3% a un seguro privado de salud (EPS).

“Desde el Ejecutivo se hicieron las coordinaciones intersectoriales necesarias y se invirtió más de S/500 millones para garantizar la política de aseguramiento universal de salud principalmente del SIS”, enfatizó.

En otro momento, reveló que actualmente más de 33 millones de residentes en el país cuentan con un seguro médico, lo que garantiza que puedan atenderse en cualquier establecimiento de salud público o privado.

Remarcó que haber alcanzado este nivel de cobertura en salud es un paso fundamental porque significa el cierre de una brecha histórica y porque beneficia directamente a la población más pobre del país, que cuenta ahora con seguro de salud que cubre y financia sus atenciones médicas.

“El aseguramiento universal en salud es producto de un esfuerzo conjunto y progresivo desde hace 13 años, cuando se promulgó la ley que buscaba garantizar el derecho pleno de toda persona al sistema de salud. Por ello, me permito anunciarlo como un logro del país, un logro de las instituciones, un logro de todas las peruanas y peruanos”, enfatizó.

El mandatario sostuvo haber impulsado una política de salud pública inclusiva para las comunidades nativas, amazónicas y alto andinas.

“Hemos dado continuidad y especial atención a impulsar una política de salud pública inclusiva, para lo cual se hizo necesario impulsar el registro de afiliados al aseguramiento universal de salud de la población de las comunidades nativas, amazónicas y alto andinas”, refirió.

Este logro, según refirió el jefe de Estado, es al mismo tiempo, un desafío para garantizar el financiamiento de la cobertura sanitaria y brindar atención oportuna y de calidad a todas las aseguradas y asegurados.

Finalmente, ratificó también la voluntad política, firme y clara de su gobierno de cumplir y hacer cumplir el derecho humano a la salud como uno de los ejes centrales de su gestión.

For this reason, I allow myself to announce it as an achievement of the country, an achievement of the institutions, an achievement of all Peruvians,” he emphasized.

The president maintained that he promoted having an inclusive public health policy for native, Amazonian and high Andean communities.

“We have given continuity and special attention to promoting an inclusive public health policy, for which it was necessary to promote the registration of affiliates to the universal health insurance of the population of the native, Amazonian and high Andean communities,” he said.

This achievement, according to the head of state, is at the same time a challenge to guarantee the financing of health coverage and provide timely and quality care to all insured persons.
