“Sumaq Justicia pretende garantizar el acceso a la justicia en el país, fortaleciendo la justicia de paz en materia de violencia contra las mujeres”, expresó la autoridad judicial, en ceremonia desarrollada en Palacio de Justicia.

Esta iniciativa es implementada por el Poder Judicial y el Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD) con el financiamiento de la Agencia de Cooperación Internacional de Corea (KOIKA) para mejorar la justicia de paz en los referidos distritos judiciales con proyección al 2027.

Ello pretende lograrse a través del fortalecimiento de la justicia de paz para responder a casos de violencia a partir del reconocimiento de las desigualdades de género, la mejora de la articulación entre la justicia de paz y la justicia ordinaria desde un enfoque de género, intercultural y territorial.

También mediante la promoción de la acción comunitaria para mejorar la prevención y atención de la violencia de género, el reconocimiento de la labor de los jueces y juezas de paz, así como la confianza en la justicia de paz.

“Este proyecto es valioso para dar solución a los casos de violencia de género, permitiendo una justicia de paz eficiente”, sostuvo el líder del Equipo de Monitoreo y Evaluación de KOICA, Kim Dae Jung.

En la etapa inicial del proyecto, se han realizado distintos diagnósticos para conocer la respuesta de jueces y juezas de paz a la violencia de género que permita el diseño de programas formativos ad hoc, las dificultades y cuellos de botella para la articulación de la justicia de paz con la justicia ordinaria.

Además, se han identificado las necesidades para el fortalecimiento de las capacidades de los equipos de la Oficina Nacional de Justicia de Paz y de Justicia Indígena (Onajup) y de las Oficinas Distritales de Apoyo a la Justicia de Paz (Odajup).

En el acto participaron también el embajador de la República de Corea en el Perú, Yungjoon Jo; la presidenta de la Comisión de Justicia de Género del Poder Judicial, Elvira Álvarez Olazábal; la representante Residente del PNUD en Perú, Bettina Woll; y el director de la Agencia de Cooperación Internacional de Corea, KOICA, Lee Jung Wook.

De igual modo, intervinieron jueces y juezas de paz de distintos distritos judiciales del país, quienes expusieron sus experiencias, testimonios de su trabajo, la realidad y necesidades de sus comunidades.
