Jefe de Estado Pedro Castillo recibirá a la lata comisionada de DD.HH. de la ONU Michelle Bachelet en Palacio de Gobierno.

Agencia Peruana de Noticias PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe Twitter: @prensaperupe El presidente de la República Pedro Castillo Terrones, recibirá mañana a la Alta Comisionada de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos, Michelle Bachelet y a su delegación, a fin de tratar diversos temas de intereses mutuo, como la implementación de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible de la Agenda 2030, en el marco de los esfuerzos que se vienen desplegando para avanzar hacia la recuperación económica en el contexto de la pandemia del COVID-19.

Además, se evaluará la situación del país y el Sistema Internacional de Derechos Humanos, su promoción y protección, cooperación con la Oficina del Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos  y la candidatura del Perú al Consejo de DD.HH. 2024 – 2026.

El encuentro se realizará a las 10:00 horas en la Sala de Embajadores de Palacio de Gobierno y tiene como finalidad fortalecer las capacidades en los distintos sectores del Estado, a través del incremento de cooperación para reforzar el enfoque de derechos humanos en el diseño e implementación de planes y programas nacionales.

Cabe precisar, que la visita de la también expresidenta de Chile, responde a una invitación realizada por el jefe de Estado en octubre del 2021 y formalizada a través de la representación permanente del Perú ante la Oficina de las Naciones Unidas en Ginebra.

En la cita, el mandatario estará acompañado de una comitiva integrada por los ministros de Relaciones Exteriores, César Landa Arroyo; y el de Justicia y Derechos Humanos, Félix Chero Medina.

Por su parte, la delegación de la Alta Comisionada estará conformada por Jose María Aranaz, Oficial de la Oficina del Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos; Maria Campbell, Coordinadora de la Misión Técnica de dicha oficina e  Igor Garafulic, Coordinador Residente de las Naciones Unidas en el Perú.

Como se recuerda, nuestro país ha presentado su candidatura al Consejo de Derechos Humanos para el período 2024-2026, cuyas elecciones se realizan en el 2023.
