En el marco del 81° aniversario de la inmolación del capitán FAP José Abelardo Quiñones Gonzales y el aniversario de la FAP, el mandatario dijo que su gobierno seguirá respaldando su proceso de modernización, para continuar fortaleciendo la institucionalidad.
Con ese objetivo, sostuvo que se ha potenciado la industria aeronáutica reduciendo la dependencia tecnológica de otros países y generando su crecimiento con el ensamblaje de aviones de instrucción básica.
“Esta modernización se alcanzó a través del trabajo especializado de las dependencias de Servicios de Mantenimiento, Servicio de Material de Guerra, la Dirección de Vigilancia y Reconocimiento Aéreo y del Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo de Proyectos, así como también en el empleo del satélite, el Perúsat 1, que nos ha puesto a la vanguardia en el control aeroespacial a nivel regional y mundial”, indicó.
El jefe de Estado destacó también la participación activa que tienen la FAP en el control del territorio y su espacio aéreo, en la defensa civil, así como en el trabajo realizado en la lucha contra la pandemia, la atención de emergencias y el traslado de ayuda humanitaria que permite unir a los pueblos más alejados del país, especialmente en la Amazonía.
“Gracias a nuestra Fuerza Aérea, miles de compatriotas de las comunidades nativas pueden acceder a servicios médicos, la aplicación de vacunas contra el Covid-19, el pago de bonos y subvenciones económicas, servicios bancarios, el trámite de sus documentos de identidad y otros servicios del Estado”, subrayó.
En el campo de la seguridad y la paz, asimismo, recalcó que la FAP, junto a las Fuerzas Armadas, siguen cumpliendo un rol primordial en la pacificación al país, luchando en la zona del Valle de los Ríos Apurímac, Ene y Mantaro (Vraem).
“Como jefe supremo de las Fuerzas Armadas, pero, sobre todo como peruano, me siento orgulloso de nuestros aviadores militares que realizan un trabajo único al servicio de la Nación”, aseguró.
