Gobierno entregó los laureles deportivos y subvención económica como apoyo deportivo a la bicampeona mundial de atletismo Kimberly García.

Agencia Peruana de Noticias PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe Twitter: @prensaperupe El presidente de la República, Pedro Castillo, entregó hoy a través del Instituto Peruano del Deporte (IPD) una subvención económica de 5,500 soles mensuales para la atleta Kimberly García León para toda su vida deportiva, como parte del Programa de Apoyo Deportivo histórico (PAD) que otorga el gobierno a los deportistas de alta competencia, en reconocimiento a las dos medallas de oro que obtuvo en el mundial de atletismo en Oregón, Estados Unidos.

Además, el Gobierno anunció dos laureles deportivos de la orden oficial Gran Cruz, una por cada medalla de oro para la primera bicampeona peruana en esta disciplina, la misma que será develado en las próximas semanas tras una resolución, así como el incentivo económico de 100 mil soles que fue entregado a la deportista de atletismo.

“El triunfo de Kimberly es el triunfo de todos los peruanos, muchos de nosotros nos vemos reflejados en ella, en su constancia, en su perseverancia, en su esfuerzo para salir adelante. El deporte, a través de nuestra querida Kimberly nos demuestra que sí se puede lograr las grandes metas”, aseveró.

El mandatario destacó el esfuerzo de la deportista y el permanente apoyo de su familia y de sus entrenadores en este histórico triunfo, que le ha permitido por primera vez a una atleta peruana ganar dos medallas de oro en un campeonato mundial.

“Este hecho nos enorgullece eternamente. Kimberly dejó en alto el nombre del país”, remarcó el mandatario tras ratificar el pleno respaldo de su gobierno al deporte.

“Lo entregado el día de hoy en forma simbólica es lo material, pero lo que representa Kimberly es lo más valioso para el país. No hay mayor bienestar que el que nos da el deporte, la verdadera revolución educativa pasa también por fortalecer el deporte en todas sus instancias. Mente sana en cuerpo sano”, apuntó.

El jefe de Estado, sostuvo que, a pocos días de celebrar el 201° aniversario patrio, el mejor regalo que puede tener el país es la doble medalla obtenida por la deportista, por la cual el país estará siempre agradecido.

A la ceremonia asistió el ministro de Educación, Rosendo Serna Román y el jefe del Instituto Peruano del Deporte, Máximo Pérez Zevallos, entre otras autoridades.
