Participaron el ministro de Defensa, Richard Tineo Quispe y la vicepresidenta de la República, Dina Boluarte Zegarra.

El Batallón de Selva Sargento 2do Fernando Lores Tenazoa N° 83 tiene como misión el resguardo de las fronteras frente a dos países, con el Ecuador a través del río Güeppí, y con Colombia a través del río Putumayo. Para llegar hasta el lugar, por vía fluvial se requiere aproximadamente 24 días en lancha y por helicóptero casi 2 horas de viaje.

La unidad cuenta con 107 efectivos que se encuentran establecidos dentro de la instalación del Batallón en Güeppí (a orillas del río Putumayo), además de 30 efectivos en el puesto de vigilancia “Sargento García” que se encuentra a unas 4 horas surcando el río Güeppí.

También está conformado por un comandante jefe de unidad, oficiales subalternos, técnicos, suboficiales y personal de tropa del servicio militar voluntario que son en su mayoría originarios de la misma región de Loreto (Requena, Maynas, entre otros).
