Durante una reunión de trabajo que sostuvo con el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de la República Árabe Saharaui Democrática, Mohamed Salem Uld Salek se planteó la posibilidad de que una embajada de ese país funcione en el Perú.
El jefe de Estado dijo que es fundamental el respeto al principio de la autodeterminación de los pueblos y que todos los conflictos y desavenencias en cualquier realidad nacional o internacional deben resolverse con diálogo.
En esa línea, señaló que estos elementos son importantes para la institucionalidad democrática, el equilibrio de poderes, y la reactivación económica del país.
Participaron en el encuentro el ministro de Comercio Exterior, Roberto Sánchez Palomino; el representante permanente del Perú ante la Organización de Naciones Unidas (ONU), Manuel Rodríguez Cuadros y el equipo de la Cancillería de la República Árabe Saharaui Democrática. La reunión se desarrolló ayer en las instalaciones del Consulado de Perú en Nueva York.
