El nuevo CAS permitirá a este grupo vulnerable tener mayores facilidades al momento de acceder a una plaza laboral, debido a que la actual normativa genera desigualdades.
“Mi gobierno no los dejará solos, la discapacidad nunca debe de ser sinónimo de discriminación y desventaja pues ustedes son ciudadanos de este país y merecen todos los derechos y oportunidades que nos da esta patria; merecen salud, educación, justicia y trabajo”, enfatizó durante la ceremonia de reconocimiento y conmemoración por el Día de Nacional de la Persona con Discapacidad realizado en Palacio de Gobierno.
Destacó que su gestión, en paralelo, viene realizando una campaña para garantizar el empleo digno a las personas con discapacidad en el sector privado.
Posteriormente, el jefe de Estado anunció que a través del Consejo Nacional para la Integración de la Persona con Discapacidad (CONADIS) y el Ministerio de la Mujer y Poblaciones Vulnerables (MIMP) se fiscalizará y sancionará rigurosamente a las entidades y funcionarios que no respeten los derechos de las personas con discapacidad y no atiendan con prioridad sus necesidades.
“Creemos que las condiciones en que viven las personas con discapacidad comenzará a cambiar cuando se cumplan las leyes y se respeten sus derechos”, subrayó.
En otro momento, el mandatario reveló que el 2023 se ejecutará II Encuesta Nacional Especializada en Discapacidad, con el objetivo de contar de actualizar las cifras sobre este grupo poblacional.
“Conocer esta realidad de manera más precisa nos permitirá saber quiénes son estas personas, dónde están, qué necesitan, qué tipo de discapacidad tienen, entre otros; a fin de ayudar a mejorar la cobertura de atención de los servicios que brinda el Estado”, anotó.
El presidente Castillo participó esta mañana del Día Nacional de la Persona con Discapacidad, evento que se realizó en el Gran Comedor de Palacio de Gobierno. Se reconoció a peruanos con discapacidad que han sobresalido en diversos espacios sociales como educación, trabajo, deportes, entre otros.
Participaron la ministra de la Mujer y Poblaciones Vulnerables, Claudia Dávila Moscoso; el ministro de Comercio Exterior y Turismo, Roberto Sánchez Palomino; el ministro de Justicia y Derecho Humanos, Félix Chero Medina; el presidente del Consejo Nacional para la Integración de la Persona con Discapacidad (CONADIS), Marco Antonio Gamarra La Barrera; y otras autoridades.

Subsequently, the head of state announced that through the National Council for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities (CONADIS) and the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations (MIMP), entities and officials who do not respect the rights of persons with disabilities and do not give priority to their needs.
“We believe that the conditions in which people with disabilities live will begin to change when the laws are complied with and their rights are respected,” he stressed.
At another time, the president revealed that in 2023 the II National Specialized Survey on Disability will be carried out, with the aim of updating the figures on this population group.
“Knowing this reality more precisely will allow us to know who these people are, where they are, what they need, what type of disability they have, among others; in order to help improve the care coverage of the services provided by the State”, he noted.
President Castillo participated this morning in the National Day of Persons with Disabilities, an event that took place in the Great Dining Room of the Government Palace. Peruvians with disabilities who have excelled in various social spaces such as education, work, sports, among others, were recognized.
