La primera autoridad edil de Tumbes Silva Mena, señaló la importancia y trascendencia de la realización de esta cita ya que representa el esfuerzo y las voluntades de parte de todos los sistemas y niveles de gobierno para desarrollar e impulsar las políticas de Estado y gobierno para garantizar la seguridad alimentaria para las poblaciones, sobre todo para aquella más vulnerables, remarcó luego de llegar a Lima donde participará activamente en este encuentro previo de la IV Cumbre mundial de regiones sobre seguridad y soberanía alimentaria “Hambre Cero”.
Desde su fundación la Mancomunidad Regional de los Andes, ha puesto la seguridad alimentaria en el centro del debate, en este sentido ha promovido activamente la cooperación regional entre las regiones que la conforman, por ello hemos gestionado la organización de este importante evento internacional en el Perú.
Este encuentro previo tiene como objetivo mostrar el compromiso de las regiones al diseñar y tomar acciones colectivas consistentes en intervenciones como prosperidad en el ámbito rural, combatir la DCI, anemia infantil y soberanía alimentaria. Finalmente, producto de esta reunión saldrá un MANIFIESTO que será presentando en la IV Cumbre Mundial de Hambre Cero que se desarrollará los días 27 y 28 de octubre del año en curso en Temuco de la región de La Araucanía, Chile.

The first mayor of Tumbes, Silva Mena, pointed out the importance and transcendence of holding this meeting, since it represents the effort and will of all systems and levels of government to develop and promote State and government policies to guarantee food security for the populations, especially for the most vulnerable, he remarked after arriving in Lima where he will actively participate in this previous meeting of the IV World Summit of regions on food security and sovereignty “Zero Hunger”.
Since its foundation, the Andes Regional Association has placed food security at the center of the debate, in this sense it has actively promoted regional cooperation between the regions that comprise it, which is why we have managed the organization of this important international event in the Peru.
This previous meeting aims to show the commitment of the regions by designing and taking collective actions consisting of interventions such as prosperity in rural areas, combating ICD, childhood anemia and food sovereignty.
