Government of Pedro Castillo announces the formation of a working group to meet the demands of farmers and common pots.

Peruvian News Agency PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe Twitter: @prensaperupe The President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo Terrones, met this afternoon with representatives of the National Agricultural Platform (PLANAGRO) and announced the formation of a work table that will allow meeting the demands of farmers and common pots in the country.

“Tomorrow I receive them at eight in the morning to agree. We are going to organize ourselves and from there we will find the solutions demanded by the organizations, the farmers and the common pots of the Peruvian people”, he expressed from the Government Palace.

During his speech at the meeting with national agricultural and livestock producers, the Head of State argued that the Second Agrarian Reform is a fundamental instrument that will allow solving the great problems of the sector.

“We promoted the Second Agrarian Reform because we knew of the great problems that agricultural activity suffers and we precisely implemented it to provide definitive and sustainable solutions,” he said.

In this sense, he regretted that some sectors of the political class distort the objectives of the reform, in their desire to “trip” his government.

“Many said that through the Second Agrarian Reform we were going to expropriate the land from the farmers, which is totally false. Almost 18 months of management have passed and we have not expropriated a single piece of land”, he remarked.

At another time, the president called on the leaders and representatives of associations to join the fight against corruption that his government is undertaking.

“I ask you to help us identify individuals who infiltrate ministries or other institutions to line their pockets illegally. Those people who do not work for the country must be denounced,” he said.

Finally, President Castillo ratified his willingness to dialogue with the political forces in order to achieve the unity that the Peruvian people are asking for.

In this context, he urged Parliament to debate the more than 60 bills that are currently pending and that, if approved, would contribute to improving the living standards of populations in all corners of the country.
