En el evento ‘Turning Perú into a Halal World Power’, organizado por ADEX y Halal Trade and Marketing Center, el titular del gremio comentó que el concepto Halal evolucionó de forma notable y en la actualidad es un requisito técnico que no solo alcanza a los alimentos frescos, sino también a los procesados, industria cosmética y farmacéutica.

Se debe indicar que el término Halal se refiere a todo lo que es benéfico y saludable, aporta a la calidad de vida y reduce los riesgos en la salud. En ese sentido, la certificación Halal garantiza que los productos cumplan con las prácticas aptas para los musulmanes, desde su producción, materiales de embalaje, almacenamiento, transporte, distribución, entre otros.

“La comunidad musulmana, principal consumidora, así como otras religiones, exigen cada vez más productos con esta certificación. Asimismo, la creciente demanda de bienes saludables, orgánicos y naturales, demuestra una tendencia hacia una alimentación más saludable en la región del Golfo Pérsico y en otras partes del mundo”, refirió Pérez Alván.

Añadió que esta disposición por una alimentación saludable ayudó a impulsar el incremento de las exportaciones peruanas en los últimos años, en particular de los superfoods como la quinoa, alcachofa, mango, aguacate, uva, espárrago, chía, castaña, cacao, maca, entre otros; todos ellos productos que pueden ser certificados en el mercado Halal.

OPORTUNIDADES
Por su parte, el director del Centro de Investigación de Economía y Negocios Globales CIEN-ADEX, Edgar Vásquez Vela, informó que los despachos peruanos a las economías emergentes que conforman la Organización para la Cooperación Islámica, concentran por ahora el 2% del total de nuestras exportaciones.

Existe una agenda pendiente a fin de aprovechar estas oportunidades, pues se trata de un mercado sofisticado con un crecimiento importante. En esa línea –continuó– se deben generar condiciones a fin de que los productos peruanos sean atractivos a los ojos de esos consumidores.

“El Estado debe brindar a los empresarios herramientas adecuadas con el propósito de llegar a esos segmentos de manera competitiva: acuerdos de libre comercio, promover las inversiones y evitar la doble tributación. Hay economías importantes con las que no hemos cerrado el círculo de un relacionamiento estratégico”, señaló.

Con el objetivo de fortalecer lazos de colaboración entre ambas instituciones, la Asociación de Exportadores (ADEX) y el Centro de Mercadeo y Comercio Halal, firmaron un Memorándum de Entendimiento (MOU), documento que marca el inicio de futuros esfuerzos conjuntos para promover productos peruanos con certificados Halal, así como promover la investigación y aprovechar el potencial de este mercado.

He added that this provision for healthy eating helped boost the increase in Peruvian exports in recent years, particularly superfoods such as quinoa, artichoke, mango, avocado, grapes, asparagus, chia, chestnuts, cocoa, maca, among others. others; all of them products that can be certified in the Halal market.

OPPORTUNITIES
For his part, the director of the CIEN-ADEX Global Economics and Business Research Center, Edgar Vásquez Vela, reported that Peruvian shipments to the emerging economies that make up the Organization for Islamic Cooperation now account for 2% of the total our exports.

There is a pending agenda in order to take advantage of these opportunities, since it is a sophisticated market with significant growth. Along these lines, he continued, conditions must be created so that Peruvian products are attractive in the eyes of these consumers.

“The State must provide entrepreneurs with adequate tools in order to reach these segments competitively: free trade agreements, promote investment and avoid double taxation. There are important economies with which we have not closed the circle of a strategic relationship”, he pointed out.
