Ante el Consejo Permanente de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA), señaló que solicitó al Congreso aprobar lo antes posible el adelanto de elecciones y dijo esperar que los países de la región apoyen esta salida pacífica, constitucional y consistente con la tradición de dicha instancia regional.

“Elecciones libres, democráticas y con todas las garantías, con la observación de la OEA, de la comunidad internacional, y de los amigos del Perú. Ese es el derrotero de salida a la crisis”, manifestó la jefa de Estado en el discurso que ofreció de manera virtual.

Asimismo, la mandataria invocó a los Estados miembros de la OEA y observadores a seguir acompañando los esfuerzos para fomentar la paz, el diálogo y el mutuo respeto entre peruanas y peruanos, sin discriminaciones ni violencia.

“Nuestro amado pueblo peruano, multiétnico, pluricultural, y donde conviven todas las sangres, como decía el Tayta Arguedas, merece vivir en paz, en libertad y en democracia”, enfatizó.

En ese sentido, la presidenta Boluarte ratificó la adhesión del Perú a los principios de la OEA, incluyendo, de modo especial, el ejercicio de las libertades ciudadanas y el derecho de los peruanos a participar en la vida institucional del país.

La mandataria recordó que el derecho de protesta es legítimo, pero ello no puede significar que se socaven las bases de la institucionalidad democrática y de la convivencia pacífica, al mencionar que los bloqueos y actos de violencia han generado pérdidas al país.
