Durante una visita técnica a la refinería, en la cual recibió una muestra de la primera producción de combustibles de bajo azufre, la mandataria remarcó que la obra fortalece la política energética del Perú, al incrementar en 45 % su nivel de procesamiento, pasando de 65,000 a 95,000 barriles diarios cuando esté en su máxima capacidad.
“En un escenario marcado por el incremento del precio del combustible, la obra mitiga el riesgo de desabastecimiento porque permitirá contar con mayor producción de combustibles limpios para satisfacer la demanda interna”, subrayó la jefa de Estado.
Además, refirió que la planta procesará crudos pesados de la selva, estimulará la producción petrolera y favorecerá el cierre de brechas en agua potable debido a que donará hasta 2,000 metros cúbicos con la instalación de una planta desalinizadora.
Por otro lado, la presidenta Boluarte insistió en su llamado al diálogo y reflexión a los sectores que protestan y generan violencia, anteponiendo los intereses del país por encima de cualquier posición ideológica o política, y trabajando en unidad.
Asimismo, dijo esperar que el Congreso atienda el proyecto de ley presentado por el Poder Ejecutivo para el adelanto de elecciones a octubre de 2023, teniendo en cuenta la demanda que hay al respecto entre la población peruana.
Según remarcó, el Gabinete Ministerial está trabajando en unidad, se encuentra sólido para responder a las necesidades del país, y aseguró que el Gobierno no cederá frente al chantaje político que quiere llevar al país al desorden.

Previamente, la mandataria participó en la inauguración de la ampliación y reforzamiento del muelle espigón del puerto de Paita, obra que tiene una inversión prevista de 16.4 millones de dólares y permitirá recibir naves de mayor tamaño e impulsar el crecimiento del norte del país.
“Unos 6 millones de personas se beneficiarán directa o indirectamente con esta ampliación, la cifra puede ser mayor si invertimos en mejores carreteras, mejores caminos vecinales y en potenciar la infraestructura agraria e industrial en otras regiones del norte del país”, aseveró.
En la actividad estuvieron presentes el presidente del Consejo de Ministros, Alberto Otárola; los ministros de Transportes y Comunicaciones, Paola Lazarte, de la Producción, Raúl Pérez Reyes, de Comercio Exterior y Turismo, Luis Helguero; el alcalde provincial de Paita, Pedro Luis Cuadros, entre otras autoridades.

“In a scenario marked by the increase in the price of fuel, the work mitigates the risk of shortages because it will allow for a greater production of clean fuels to satisfy internal demand,” stressed the head of state.
In addition, he said that the plant will process heavy crude oil from the jungle, stimulate oil production and favor the closing of potable water gaps because it will donate up to 2,000 cubic meters with the installation of a desalination plant.
On the other hand, President Boluarte insisted on her call for dialogue and reflection to the sectors that protest and generate violence, putting the interests of the country above any ideological or political position, and working in unity.
Likewise, he said he expected Congress to attend to the bill presented by the Executive Power to advance elections to October 2023, taking into account the demand that exists in this regard among the Peruvian population.
As he remarked, the Ministerial Cabinet is working in unity, it is solid to respond to the needs of the country, and he assured that the Government will not give in to the political blackmail that wants to lead the country into disorder.

Previously, the president participated in the inauguration of the expansion and reinforcement of the breakwater pier of the port of Paita, a work that has a planned investment of 16.4 million dollars and will allow receiving larger ships and boosting the growth of the north of the country.
“Some 6 million people will benefit directly or indirectly from this expansion, the figure could be higher if we invest in better highways, better local roads and in strengthening agricultural and industrial infrastructure in other regions of the north of the country,” he asserted.
