“Es nuestro deber defenderla y reforzarla, promoviendo el diálogo, garantizando el respeto a los derechos humanos y mejores condiciones de vida para todos”, afirmó en la Segunda Cumbre por la Democracia, en la cual participó por invitación de su homólogo de Estados Unidos, Joseph Biden.

Al remarcar que en sus tres de meses de gestión el Gobierno trabaja en el fortalecimiento de la institucionalidad y la atención de las necesidades y demandas de los peruanos, la mandataria recordó que la democracia tiene que producir resultados concretos para la población.

Según detalló, debe garantizar elecciones libres y transparentes, el respeto a las libertades, salud y educación de calidad, agua potable, carreteras, puentes, caminos rurales, seguridad, y por ello el Ejecutivo ha puesto en marcha Con Punche Perú, a fin de reactivar la economía con inversiones sociales y productivas que van directo a la economía del hogar en todas las regiones.

Asimismo, la dignataria expresó su convencimiento de que el consenso constituye un elemento central de la democracia, por lo cual su gestión promueve un diálogo amplio e inclusivo, tanto con las fuerzas políticas como con las organizaciones sociales y los sectores productivos.

Dicho proceso, subrayó la jefa de Estado, se lleva a cabo sobre la base de los grandes objetivos que tiene el país y por encima de las diferencias ideológicas y políticas.

De igual forma, afirmó que la promoción y defensa de los derechos humanos constituye otro de los pilares fundamentales del sistema democrático y del fortalecimiento de la gobernabilidad.

En ese sentido, dijo que el Gobierno respeta y seguirá respetando los compromisos internacionales del Perú en materia de derechos humanos, incluido el derecho a la protesta legítima y pacífica, diferenciándola de los actos de violencia contra el orden democrático y el Estado de derecho.

As detailed, it must guarantee free and transparent elections, respect for freedoms, health and quality education, drinking water, highways, bridges, rural roads, security, and for this reason the Executive has launched Con Punche Peru, in order to reactivate the economy with social and productive investments that go directly to the household economy in all regions.

Likewise, the dignitary expressed her conviction that consensus constitutes a central element of democracy, for which reason her management promotes a broad and inclusive dialogue, both with political forces and with social organizations and the productive sectors.

Said process, stressed the Head of State, is carried out on the basis of the great objectives that the country has and above the ideological and political differences.

In the same way, he affirmed that the promotion and defense of human rights constitutes another of the fundamental pillars of the democratic system and the strengthening of governability.

In this sense, he said that the Government respects and will continue to respect Peru’s international commitments in the field of human rights, including the right to legitimate and peaceful protest, differentiating it from acts of violence against the democratic order and the rule of law.
