Estos trabajos se iniciarán en octubre y son parte del servicio de mejoramiento que ejecuta el programa Proregión, creado por el Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC) y ejecutado por Provías Descentralizado.
Los viajes por la vía pavimentada reducirán el tiempo de traslado y el costo de transporte de pasajeros y productos, debido a que los vehículos utilizarán menos combustible. Además, la infraestructura vial tendrá mejores condiciones para el tránsito vehicular y aumentará la seguridad para los usuarios.
Todo ello optimizará el traslado de los productos agrícolas desde las zonas de cultivo hacia los mercados de abastos, conforme a los objetivos de Proregión. De esta manera, el traslado eficiente del maíz, trigo, quinua, frejol, haba, palta, entre otros cultivos de Apurímac, fortalecerá la competitividad de la región.
El trayecto de 239 kilómetros lleva el nombre de Corredor Vial Alimentador (CVA) N° 3 Apurímac. Se divide en cinco tramos que recorren los distritos Antabamba, Juan Espinoza Medrano, San Juan de Chagña, Caraybamba, Tintay, Lucre, El Oro, José María Arguedas, Huaquirca, Sabaino y Pachaconas.
Este corredor también incluye los distritos Pocohuanca, Chapimarca, Justo Apu Sahuaraura, Tapairihua y Yanaca. Las jurisdicciones mencionadas son parte de las provincias Antabamba, Aymaraes y Andahuaylas.
Son más de 25 mil pobladores quienes se beneficiarán con Proregión. El monto destinado para estos trabajos, que además incluyen el mantenimiento de las vías hasta por un periodo de cinco años, es de S/ 170.7 millones.
