“Este es un anhelo que viene de muchísimos años y la población de Iquitos se merece un hospital de alta complejidad. Será para los asegurados más vulnerables como lo son los niños, madres y adulto mayores”, señaló Carhuapoma en su visita al terreno.

El titular de EsSalud precisó que el expediente técnico del hospital se trabajará en forma conjunta con el gobierno regional y local y su construcción significará una inversión aproximada de 500 millones de soles.

El terreno de 12 hectáreas, donde se construirá el moderno nosocomio, está ubicado en el distrito de San Juan Bautista y fue donado por el Instituto Nacional de Innovación Agraria (INIA), contará con 200 camas de hospitalización para hacer frente a la alta demanda de pacientes.

Durante su visita a esta región, el presidente ejecutivo de EsSalud también supervisó la atención que se brinda en el Hospital Base III Loreto, el mismo que cuenta con camas hospitalarias, plantas de oxígeno, así como equipamiento médico para enfrentar una eventual tercera ola de contagios por la COVID-19.

Carhuapoma subrayó que EsSalud cuenta con la capacidad suficiente para brindar oxígeno no solo de manera hospitalaria sino a domicilio y que sus establecimientos de todo el país cuentan con las suficientes camas UCI.

LAS BRIGADAS DE PREVENCIÓN
De otro lado, el titular del Seguro Social de Salud informó que la institución que preside “está formando brigadas a nivel nacional de prevención contra la Covid-19 y para la promoción de una salud eficiente en base a inmunonutrición, salud mental y el mejoramiento de estilos de vida.

Asimismo, Carhuapoma pidió a la población a que se vacune con las dos dosis para que el país pueda tener una eficiente reactivación económica, vuelvan las clases presenciales y aumente el turismo.

“Invocamos a la población en general a que salga a vacunarse porque tenemos las dosis suficientes y así poder cerrar las brechas de los grupos etarios”, concluyó.

Cabe señalar que, la Red Asistencial Loreto cuenta con 75 camas en el Hospital Blanco, 52 camas en el Hospital Modular, un moderno laboratorio que procesa pruebas moleculares y 22 camas UCI instaladas en el Hospital III Iquitos, así como dos plantas de oxígeno que brindan terapia respiratoria a pacientes que presenten complicaciones a causa del nuevo coronavirus.

Finalmente, es preciso señalar que la Red Asistencial Loreto ha mejorado la cadena de frío para la conservación de las vacunas, con un ultracongelador -80° y ocho refrigeradoras. Además, se han implementado puntos de vacunación contra la COVID-19.
