Este cónclave de autoridades electorales tuvo lugar entre el 28 y 29 de septiembre, y participaron representantes de Ecuador, República Dominicana, Colombia, Perú, Costa Rica y Argentina. En la misma participó el presidente del Jurado Nacional de Elecciones (JNE) del Perú, Jorge Luis Salas Arenas.

Durante su participación en el seminario internacional Justicia Electoral en las Américas el presidente del Jurado Nacional de Elecciones (JNE), Jorge Luis Salas Arenas, mostró con fotografías, videos y tuits los ataques que recibieron las autoridades y organismos electorales durante el proceso electoral.

Jorge Luis Salas Arenas dijo que se trató de una estrategia de presión que se manifestó a través de informaciones falsas, manifestaciones no autorizadas, el ejercicio abusivo del derecho de acción para saturar y bloquear al Jurado Nacional de Elecciones, y el desconocimiento a los resultados electorales.

“La democracia es verdadera democracia cuando se tiene organismos electorales sólidos y con respaldo, porque cuando hay organismos que ceden a la agresión o amenaza, no aseguran su función, menos aún la de contribuir a la democracia”, recalcó el Presidente del Jurado Nacional de Elecciones (JNE).

“Todos tenemos derecho a votar y nuestro voto debe contar. No se acepta en democracia que el voto de ningún ciudadano tenga mayor valor que el voto de otro”, dijo el Presidente del Jurado Nacional de Elecciones (JNE), Jorge Luis Salas Arenas, en el seminario internacional Justicia Electoral en las Américas.

Salas Arenas señaló que “la democracia se asienta en el respeto de los derechos fundamentales de todos, no solamente de aquellos que manejan el poder político o que cuentan con el respaldo del poder económico, sino de todos”, durante su exposición en la ciudad de Quito.

El Presidente del máximo ente electoral peruano también dijo que “la democracia se asienta en el pluralismo político y que no puede haber monopolio de ideas o unipartidismo”. Como se recuerda la excandidata presidencial y acusada por la justicia peruana de liderar una banda delincuencial junto a su partido político Fuerza Popular se encargaron en el último proceso electoral de desatar una escalada antidemocrática y de terror, para desconocer las elecciones generales, vulnerado derechos ciudadanos e inquisionarios contra las instituciones democrática del Perú.
