Ese fue el acuerdo alcanzado en la reunión que sostuvieron esta tarde la presidenta del Congreso de la República, María del Carmen Alva Prieto, y el titular del Consejo de Ministros, en el Palacio Legislativo.

En la reunión, que duró aproximadamente 45 minutos, también participaron los vicepresidentes del Parlamento, Lady Camones y Enrique Wong Pujada.

A su salida, Bellido Ugarte indicó que fue «un diálogo sincero”, en el que expresó “sus intenciones para generar mejores condiciones y mejores oportunidades para cada uno de nuestros hermanos (peruanos)”.

De acuerdo con el artículo 130 de la Constitución Política del Estado, esta presentación se realiza dentro “de los treinta días de haber asumido sus funciones”, “en compañía de los demás ministros, para exponer y debatir la política general del Gobierno y las principales medidas que requiere su gestión. Plantea la cuestión de confianza”.

Al respecto, el Reglamento del Parlamento Nacional precisa, en su artículo 82, que el presidente del Consejo de Ministros expone y debate “la política general del Gobierno”, y “las principales medidas que requiere su gestión”.

Finalizada esta exposición, solicita la cuestión de confianza “a nombre del Consejo en su conjunto”, la misma que “será debatida y votada en la misma sesión o en la siguiente, según lo que acuerde en forma previa el Consejo Directivo o en el acto el Pleno del Congreso”.
