Más de 1.2 millones de peruanos se beneficiarán de puente La Joya en Arequipa que permitirá en 30 minutos unirse a la panamericana sur.

Se proyecta que al día circulen 2500 vehículos por el mencionado puente, que será parte de la ruta directa entre Arequipa y la Panamericana Sur. Esto evitará que los camiones de carga pesada ingresen a la zona urbana, lo cual reducirá la congestión vehicular.

“El puente La Joya conectará regiones y países, regiones como Puno, Cusco, Madre de Dios, y los países de Brasil y Bolivia. Es una vía importante para el desarrollo del Perú. Nuestro esfuerzo como sector está orientado a cumplir la meta, junto al gobierno regional, de concluir el puente”, sostuvo Carlos Revilla, director ejecutivo de Provías Descentralizado.

Por ser parte de una carretera departamental que se conecta con otra nacional, esta obra beneficiará a 1.2 millones de personas. Los beneficiarios directos serán quienes viven en los distritos La Joya y Cerro Colorado, pues el estribo derecho del puente se ubica en el primer distrito; y el estribo izquierdo, en el segundo.

El funcionario supervisó los avances de la ejecución de la obra, para la cual el MTC transfirió el mencionado monto al Gobierno Regional de Arequipa entre los años 2016 y 2020. Esta infraestructura tendrá 392 metros de longitud, cuatro carriles, bermas y veredas.

Por su parte, la entidad regional, encargada de la ejecución del puente, informó que las estructuras metálicas de la infraestructura son ensambladas en Italia.

Asimismo, con el propósito de fortalecer las capacidades del gobierno regional, Provías Descentralizado suscribió un convenio con esa entidad a fin de prestarle asistencia técnica para la elaboración de los estudios definitivos de los demás componentes de la obra.
