Durante su participación en la ceremonia de graduación de 91 alféreces de fragata de la Marina de Guerra, el jefe de Estado indicó que su Gobierno asignó 32 millones de soles para iniciar la construcción de dos Plataforma Itinerante de Acción Social (PIAS) para llevar los servicios del Estado a los peruanos ubicados a lo largo de la cuenca del río Ucayali.

Señaló además que la incorporación del Buque de Armada Peruana (BAP) “Paita”, la segunda embarcación multipropósito construida por los Servicios Industriales de la Marina (SIMA), permitirá incrementar las misiones de ayuda humanitaria, así como el apoyo en situaciones de riesgos y desastres naturales.

El presidente Castillo indicó que se encuentran en construcción en los astilleros del SIMA Callao, cuatro patrulleras de interdicción marítima de alta velocidad y versatilidad, que permitirán luchar contra la pesca ilegal en todo el litoral peruano, así como se encuentra en la fase final la adquisición y modernización de cuatro helicópteros que próximamente serán transportados de Estados Unidos.

También detalló que se encuentra en marcha el proyecto de modernización y adaptación de un avión de vigilancia Fokker hacia un avión de vigilancia electrónica, y que la MGP está modernizando dos submarinos en los astilleros del SIMA Callao, en una labor sin precedentes en esta parte del mundo, trabajo que concluirá el primer trimestre del 2022.

En el marco del fortalecimiento de la Marina de Guerra, el mandatario refirió que se ha concluido el proceso de adquisición de una aeronave de instrucción para el mejor entrenamiento de los pilotos aeronavales en plazos más cortos. Igualmente, refirió que se ha asignado 27 millones de soles para continuar con la construcción de la nueva Base Aeronaval en el aeropuerto Jorge Chávez y que en los últimos días de diciembre se incorporará a la institución el BAP Almirante “Guise”, donado por la República de Corea del Sur.

Como parte de la Política Nacional Antártica, anunció también que el próximo 30 de diciembre zarpará del puerto del Callao a la Antártida el Buque Oceanográfico “Carrasco”, con la Vigésima Octava Expedición Científica que realizará diversos proyectos de investigación con participación de instituciones públicas y privadas.

“La misión que el país le encomienda a la Marina de Guerra es amplia y variada, como Estado tenemos el deber de fortalecer su capacidad operativa, como lo estamos haciendo también con la Fuerza Aérea, el Ejército y la Policía Nacional”, refirió.

Destacó que las Fuerzas Armadas siempre estuvieron y están en primera línea, como lo demostraron durante la pandemia, los desastres naturales, contra el narcotráfico y los remanentes del terrorismo.

Del mismo modo, subrayó la alta preparación del personal de la Marina de Guerra para cumplir su misión y labores sociales relevantes como la que realiza el BAP “Curaray”, que inició su cuarta campaña para llevar servicios médicos, trámites del DNI, registro de partidas de nacimiento y pago de subvenciones económicas a más de 12,000 pobladores de las comunidades indígenas asentadas en la cuenca del río del Ucayali.
